You can definitely ask IRCC that you inadvertently added your spouse as accompanying, but its is discretionary and it takes time for it to be added to the record.
Thanks legal falcon, when I spoke to CIC call center they said eligibility and medical is done but security not started . I am waiting for GCMS notes to come . Shall I read the notes first and then inform IRCC about the mistake or do it now

Hi legalfalcon - I'd ordered GCMS notes for my March 27 AOR FSWO application (India). At the time of receipt of the GCMS notes (8th Aug, 2017) my file had just moved to IP2 and as per the notes they were printed on 3rd August, 2017. At the time of printing my Security check was pending (PA + me). I waited for 2 weeks and called CIC last Wednesday (23rd August, 2017).

The agent looked at my file and informed me that the file was still in CPC-Ottawa and that it was approved. I asked her if that it means that I should expect the PPR email shortly to which she responded in the affirmative.

My question is, how long might I have to wait? Is there anything I can do to expedite matters?

Hi Legalfalcon,

Can you please advise me on the following:

My AOR is 16th August, 2017 and passport will expire on 27th August, 2018. This means by the time I receive PPR (if I receive), my passport will definitely have less than 12 months to expire and maybe less than 6 months to expire (if CIC takes more than 6 months to process my application). With regard to this:

1) Should I immediately apply for passport renewal and get the renewed passport before receiving PPR? In this case, my renewed passport will have address different from my old passport as the older one was issued while I was residing in my hometown. Since, my current address is in a different city than my hometown, would CIC raise an objection after seeing different addresses in old and renewed passports?

Note - In my address history in e-AOR, I have provided my current address as my last residing address, thus, if I request for passport renewal now, it should ideally be my current address which should appear on my passport.

Appreciate if you can advise.

Thanks
Rahul

CEC is very slow and it is taking forever to even start processing. You should definitely call and email to enquire the status, you can also consider ordering GCMS notes, which provides a greater insight into your application. You can read more on GCMS here - https://www.getgcms.com/blog/gcms-notes-look-like-order/
Hello @legalfalcon ,
As per your suggestion, I ordered GCMS notes but it will take few more weeks. Also I was unable to get any information regarding my eligibility status from CIC. The only information i received via email is that my file is at CPC OTTAWA. My additional document status is " The additional documents you provided are being reviewed" and my background status is "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check". I will be positively waiting for any updates as well as GCMS Notes but for now, Can i assume my eligibility is done by now ?

Thank you.
Regards.

@legalfalcon do you have any idea, rumor, insider info, opinion, guess, anything at all ... as to why pnp application are so slow to process?

Feb, March and April applicants were slowed down. You cannot find any pnp applicant getting ppr in less than 5 months these days.

Hi @legalfalcon
You are a gem and, although I know you are being bombarded by questions (you're some kind of saint), hopefully you'll have a chance to attend to mine.

I've asked this question in other threads, but I'm still looking for a more 'satisfying' response. Posters in this forum keep stating that investments, such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc. cannot count as Settlement Funds for purposes of satisfying requirements under the Federal Skilled Workers programme, because they are tied to the market and are too 'volatile' in value.

However, I have yet to find anything from IRCC specifically stating this. All I can find is that 'statements from investment accounts' is one of the supporting documents for proof of funds on CIC's website, and I've seen persons post email responses from IRCC where they state that 'cashable investments' are valid, but nothing specifies what types of Investments.

Persons on this forum have also been stating that holdings in real estate can be used as POF, even though I'm fairly certain that I saw on the CIC website that real estate couldn't be used.

Can you provide a ruling on this matter, or direct me to something from IRCC specifically that outlines if investments can or cannot be used as POF?

Hello Legalfalcon,

AOR : July 09, 2017
PPR confirmation email : August 09, 2017

I have now received a extension in passport submission deadline.
I hope I can now simply submit my renewed passport to VFS for visa stamping or do I need to update my new passport to CIC before submitting.

Thanks!!
Yes, you will need to update your new passport, as your application has the old passport number.

If you are aware of the mistake, raise a CSE. It will not harm. However, the GCMS notes will conclusively show what the issue is.

After the application is approved, it goes for final review and then it is sued up for PPR. The PPR is released in batches. So you may have to wait for a few days for the PPR.

Hi Legalfalcon, how long is the validity of visa issued in PPR?
It is 6 months, but in case if your medicals expire before, then it will be until the date when your medicals expire.

Eg. if you get your PR visa issued on 1 sep, 2017, it sill be valid for 6 months if the medicals (valid for 1 year) expire after 6 months. However, if your medicals expire on Nov 15, then the visa will be valid from 1, Sep 2017 - 15 Nov 2017.
