TEF - French Exam...

I'm Vanessa.
I would like to know if the points given for French are similar to IELTS. I mean, for IELTS if the results in all RLWS are not 6.0 and above, no point is attributed
Is it the same for french ?
I did not do too good in Speaking in TEFaQ; the examinator was hard to convince, and i'm really freaking out. I want to know before i redo the exams

Yep, it works the same way.
For your first official language, you have to score at least CLB4 in all bands for it to count in the FSW eligibility criteria, and CLB4 for it to be counted towards your CRS.
For your second official language, it's CLB5 for both FSW and CRS.

For TEF, CLBs are as follows (according to the CIC website):

Hello DianaB,

I'd like to share my experience with the eTEF in case it's helpful. I took the exam once in 2014 and again in 2015 because results from last year had expired. My graduate work is in French and I have extensive experience with standardized testing. Even though I managed to get C1s and C2s both times (22 in the CRS scale since applying with spouse), I would agree with JB007's comment that it's a tricky test. A correct answer on the multiple-choice section gets you 3 points, but they knock off 1 point for an incorrect answer. There is no penalty for selecting "I don't know", on the other hand.

There isn't much of any preparation material available. If you are planning on taking classes at the AF, you are indeed looking at some time investment before you can be fully ready to take the exam. The eTEF definitely needs a certain level of proficiency.

If you can find prep material for the TFI (test du francais international), you might be able to get some additional practice. While it's not identical to the TEF test, you can get your feet wet.

I passed the test on May 2016 and I discovered that they've changed the grading system. They don't subtract a point for a wrong answer anymore.

They told me that too but the weird thing is that I got 245 on reading. No combination I did leads to this score. I'm wondering how 245 is even achievable.

I don't want to discourage you but I want to give you realistic expectations : I did the TEF and I found it much more difficult than the IELTS. My mothertongue is French. I had a very good score but it was not easy. So do not go for the test and waste your money unless you are able to speak French at an advanced level.

It depends how long you're willing to put into it.
If you're willing to study for several hours a day, every single day for a couple of years, of course it's possible.

That seems exceptionally unlikely, unless you have a particular talent for foreign languages and are willing to put in a lot of hours every day.

TEF contains reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

I believe TCFQ only contains the speaking and listening portions, but I'm not certain of this.

There is a fifth part called Lexique et structure which is not required for immigration.

If I am not mistaken there are two main types of TEF: a general TEF and TEF Canada. The general one contains 5 exams (Grammar included). While Canadian TEF has only 4 parts. So you'll have to pay attention to that.

As you can see at the bottom of the page they list 4 different types of TEF for various purposes. You'll need TEF pour émigrer au Canada.
