I read something that I would have to pay american and canadian taxes. Can someone please explain that or if I would have too?

There is a tax treaty between Canada and the USA. It prevents you from paying taxes twice on the same money. Google search the tax treaty and you will find lots of info.

However if you are an American, you still need to file taxes regardless of where you are living (and even if you don't end up owing any taxes).

Im american XD!!! I was just wondering when I move up there and start working if I would have to pay both american and Canadian taxes. I will still file for this year but next year it will be in canada XD!

You will have to continue filing US taxes for the rest of your life no matter where you live. Again, filing taxes and owing taxes are two different things. You won't be double taxed (i.e. if you have already paid tax on income earned in Canada then you will not have to pay that tax again in the US). However you must file US taxes.

Yes this is (mostly) true. In any case, it can be quite complex to correctly file your US taxes while you live in Canada. I strongly suggest hiring a cross-border tax specialist the first time you file
