Super Visa and Visitor Visa

Hey @Nika1989 please let me know what you find. I'm also interested in this. I applied for a visitor visa for my mom using the old portal a month ago and there has been no progress so far. Based on what I'm reading here, I feel like her visitor visa is likely to get rejected due to financials (although she has extensive travel history and a valid US visa as well...but I'm her financial sponsor as she doesn't have any assets in her name). I'm thinking of simultaneously submitting a supervisa application using the new portal.

I'm going to call immigration support center and ask them to make sure there won’t be any issues with visa.
I know for super visa you need to proof that your household in Canada meets the minimum necessary income.
And provide documents showing that.
For visitor visa your mom needs to have funds in her bank account and you can write the letter telling that you promise to cover all her expenses during her entire stay in Canada and pay for her tickets and she will stay with you.
then she will comeback to her country.
For both visas (visitor and super visa)
they will look at her ties to her home country and family.
I will write here what the immigration will tell me about applying for both visas at the same time.
And I hope your mom will have her visa very soon and you can see her.

Thank you. Looking forward to your update. Still no update on my mom’s visa application. I have submitted my financials and a letter stating that I will cover all her expenses. Problem is she has no money/assets in her name. She does have extensive family in India (including her siblings, my dad/her husband & my sister / her daughter) but if they went only by financials, it will be rejected. Anyway… I think her chances will be much better with super visa because her financials won’t be a criteria. My financials will more than cover the income requirements for the super visa. I’m itching to make a parallel application for the super visa but I’ll wait to hear from you first. Thanks!
For supervisa you need to prove that you have earned a certain amount in the past year. NOA is the preferred documentation to prove that you meet LICO. Is there a reason you want to apply for both a supervisa and normal visitor visa?
Would not suggest applying for both at the same time. It will likely create confusion and look like she is desperate for approval which can create warning signs. If denied a normal TRV I would apply for the supervisa given she does have ties to India. You could have just started with applying for a supervisa but too late.
In my case, I suspect that my mom’s visitor visa application will get rejected due to lack of finances. She has absolutely no assets in her name. I have included a letter with her application that I will sponsor her trip financially. From other posts, it appears that me sponsoring her isn’t sufficient and if she doesn’t have funds in her name, it is likely to get rejected. Now that I know this, I’d like to go ahead and submit a super visa application in parallel to save time. My understanding is that for super visa, it is fine if in sponsor her as long as I meet income requirements- which I will meet and exceed by plenty. I made a mistake of not reading this forum before applying for her TRV. Had I known of the risks with TRV, I wouldve just applied for the super visa.
As you say, it might be a good idea to wait, get the decision on the TRV before applying for super visa to avoid looking desperate. It’s just that there is absolutely no movement in the TRV application processing. Been a month and nothing so far.
I applied for my parents super visa on February. Still this is in processing. Recently, last month IRCC requested for medical exam to be done within 30days. Both my parents complied and completed the exams within days of request. The designated clinic had said that they would upload the results in time. However, when I am checking online, it is showing that IRCC has not received the results of the medical exam for my mother, though my father's showing that he passed the medical exam. This is weird. My parents went to the same clinic and did the test at the same time. But how is it possible that IRCC received the results for only one of them? Have any one of you faced similar issue? DO you know what can be done now? I am just concerned because it says in the medical form that if they don't receive the results within the designated timeline (30days) it may result in refusal of the visa.
