if supervisa medical is mandatory, sometimes they approve but they give visa < 6 months. <6 months no medical is needed. Ideally supevisa medicals should be done upfront. I too had same issue. I submitted application without medicals in Mar2021 and then last week my parents did upfront medicals and i submitted emedical tracking sheet via webform last week. Lets see how it goes.

Once the file is being reviewed by the officer they will send a Medical Request Letter. Once Medical is passed they usually issue PPR within 21-28 days. In the case of Upfront, the timeline depends on when the file comes under review.

Waiting............................waiting...........

.
........and endless waiting

It depends as I have seen 3-4 people who applied in September and have received PPR. However, for others, nothing changed after Biometrics was completed.

Also, I have seen a couple of people who contacted the visa office after 30 days of application to speed up the process of getting PPR. However, the sample of all these people is less than 1% of the total applications we see in this forum.

Currently, the fastest processing is being seen in the following two countries:
  • India
  • Cameroon

I have also noticed that many of Philippines applications also processed faster.

Hi, Could you help me understand what would be difference in applying for the supervisa from both these portals? I have collected 99% of the documents and will submit the application via GC Key in a day or two. But then I saw these comments about the new portal.

Additionally, I am not able to sign up on the new portal as it is asking for an inviter code which I don't have. Also it is not accepting my email address as the format they require is 'you@yourhost.com' ?

i am guessing it all depends on the number of applicants and the covid situation in the country. i am guessing India has 3 - 4 times the number of applicants and it also doesnt help that its one of the most hard hit countries. Lets kep our fingers crossed that IRCC will pick up their pace soon.

do we need to apply supervisa on new portal now?
I Havent yet, planning to wait until next week. If no update will re-apply in new portal

New portal :https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en

Details : https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...rvices/coronavirus-covid19/visitors/visa.html

If not urgent now they say not to apply and they will process the ones in GC key. But dont know what timelines are they following

Supervisa is also an option in new portal.
