hi there, I did my medical exam today. the doctor didn't tell me if i should eat or not. so I had coffee before i went in.
they test that I have sugar in my urinate, the doctor was very nice, she suggest me come back tomorrow to do another one, but I told her that I live far and don't have time to come back. she told me to drink 2L water and then do x-ray then come back do another one. I did so, then the nurse said it was good.
so warning for everyone, don't eat, drink lots lots water!!!!
I did my exam at 710 SHEPPARD AVE east. suit 306. you can book appointment the same day which is awesome!

Why would you need an empty stomach? I had the biggest breakfast before doing me medicals and
it went just fine. Had coffee, bacon, eggs and sausages plus a donut at timmies on the way.
You don't need an empty stomach for the medical examination, the urine sample and the blood test.

That what my Doctor suggested when I went for full body checkup. So I mentioned it here.

Well, all they do is take your height and weight to determine the BMI, blood pressure and a general exam
of lungs etc. I can't see why one would need an empty stomach for that. And for the chest x-ray it's not necessary.

He did took my blood sample 2 times. One was empty stomach and another was after I did lunch. May it was to compare sugar level. I didn't know how is Medical examination for CIC. I though it will be similar.

Interesting. Maybe we're in a different age group. They took my blood, chest x-ray and general exam and 2 hrs later I was on the
way home and done with my medicals.

It all depends on your sugar level. If your sugar level is high, it's best not to eat before the exam is conducted. Some would say not to even drink water before being tested

When I did medicals a while ago the Doc mentioned not to eat or drink anything before urine and blood work was done. Went to a different clinic this time and when I called to book appointment(receptionist booked it) wasn't told not to drink or eat before exam. Anyways, I went ahead and didn't eat anything but drank water before my medicals(morning appointment). When I met the Doc...she asked if I had anything to eat or drink and I said I only had water...she said that's perfect since they tested for blood sugar levels and sugar in your urine.

Another guy who was there doing medicals was told(I over heard lol) that he needed to drink as much water and come back in about 2 hours for urine test since they found high level of sugar in his urine. They also asked him if he was a diabetic, to which he said no, but that he drank a coke before he got to the clinic.

So I guess every clinic or Doc is different perhaps, I really dont know.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers guys n don't take coke...sorry meant don't drink coke before your medicals lol.
