Study Permit rejection possible ???

Hey guys I live in Kuwait, I have completed my school here. I applied in Seneca college and got accepted for 3 year course of Business administration - information. I applied for my visa on 3rd of July. Here is my question..

Ill not be attending any hostel or hotel. I plan to stay with my couzin. I did mention that on my application when they asked me if I am staying in any hostel (which i marked no) & then they asked me if I am visiting my relatives ( i marked yes) . Is there any possibility that my visa would get rejected thinking that ill not be leaving canada after my studies.

Also mentioning that my parents will not accompany me to Canada. Ill be travelling alone. And please let me know how much do I really have to wait. i read in the guideline saying it would take 10 working days. Will I get the response by then?

Buddy I appreciate you honesty. You provided the right information to the embassy and know what this is what they ask of us. I do not think you could face refusal on this ground. one more thing - you said you have completed school so if am not mistaken you are a minor (under 18 years of age) still ? are you? if you are then its perfectly fine to mention that you gonna live with your relative because they going to be your custodian.

You need to prove that you are leaving you parents behind and they are well established in Kuwait to make them belive that you will definately come back.

Since Your Case ain't filled under SPP (SPP is open to indians and the process is faster than normal) so it will take some time probably more than 15 days so be patient and relax in the meantime.

Hey Preet,

Thanks allot, That really encourages me. I am 18, I turned 18 last december. And yes I did give them a prove that my dad is working here in a company and will continue to work for several more years. My mom is a housewife I also mentioned that in my application. Just hoping for the best. Wish they give a response soon.

And I am an Indian too. Didnt know about this SPP thing.

dont know this for sure, but after reading a lot of posts from people (from South Asia) in the middle east, I've noticed that its kind of difficult to prove 'ties to home country' when you're not in your home country. Most parents of these applicants have a residence permit ( which is temp) and not citizenship.... so leaving parents there dont make a difference. so their stay in that country itself is not permanent.

i think you need to carefully plan and show ties to Ind, Pak, Bang, SL.. wherever. anyone have any thoughts / experiences to share ?

Dont know but I know that it was easy for four of my friends who applied last year for Canada from here in Kuwait. They were all the same as I am. And they all did get there visa in a month with no problems.

The only difference btw them and me, which is making me nervous is that I will not be attending any hostel for a couple of months. Ill be staying with my relatives.

At the moment I am praying and requsting others to do for me too, hoping everything will be alright.

i am same from UAE-Doha Qatar ,,,, iam single and working too here from 2 years and pakistani national.....i applied for student visa and showed company job and other documents but my visa refused due to same objection that i will not come back to my home after completing my studies so you must attach some additional documents may be some property documents back to your home land that will make your case more strong.........well best of luck if you proceeding your case with the documents that you already have

I got an email from the embassy today. They are asking my school transcripts. Does anyone know why are they asking that? And does that increase my chance for getting my visa anyhow?

Your application seems under consideration now.

Go ahead and provide them all transcripts that you must have already submitted along with your Visa Apps I suppose.

Did you not submit the photocpies of your school transcripts with application ? If you didn't - they want to have a look at your previous education so maybe thats why they have asked for it.

I do not know abt the chances of getting visa but IF YOU DID NOT SUBMIT THE CERTIFICATES EARLIER then you are fortunate that they emailed you and asked for transcripts instead of refusing your application for being incomplete or anything like that.

Submit your docs ASAP and relax as your application is under process.

yes you lucky because one of my couzin's only one original transcript was missing and he got refusal letter for this reason

No Sagar, not yet.. last what I got was an email asking for my transcripts. After sending those via email I got a reply saying they would respond in 10 days. So hoping for the best and praying.

I have sent them emails and even fax's yet they never reply! I don't understand how come its taking them so long! However lets keep praying that everything will work out for us!

All the best and keep us updated! Because i heard from friends that Abu Dhabi Embassy are Cruel in issuing student permits, especially to asians who lived / grew up in middle east, I plan to apply too but still assessing my situation to strengthen my case.
