Hi @Simba11,

I disagree, the letter for NSE is clear. It states that following the NSE route is not mandatory. If they do not hear from the applicant within 30days, then it is assumed that the applicant is not interested in that route and as such will proceed with the normal route. Furthermore, at @anitapatrickk, clarifies that she submitted the mybankstatement token. So what more does the IRCC want. I gave you clear examples of an applicant that disregarded the NSE route and got their visa and those that followed that route and their visas were still denied.

The IRCC must be fair and objective in their assessment of people's applications and not use any form stereotypical bias against applicants from Nigeria. It's more like a lottery now, there's no standard or rules to follow. Today NSE, tomorrow normal route, next tomorrow ask somebody to resubmit all their documents, their website is often down. The truth is they have bitten more than they can chew. And until our people say to hell with them, and consider alternatives, they will continue to treat us badly.

Cheers.

It's always good to disagree respectfully. I understand clarity on NSE route and options to regular one, but I hope you see things in different perspective that I do not want to explode. There's no fair and objective assessment all the time with the IRCC, in most case it goes down to specific presumption and officer in charge of the file. We do not know full details of the file, but one thing we know is failure to produce those requested document led to refusal. We both know this is wrong provided there is option to regular stream. But if IELTS and PoF were available, I would be suprised why candidate preferred to ignore correspondence to trigger regular route that takes longer than the NSE, taking shorter time. I don't want to make any judgement but it could be IELTS was missing and process to get one takes time and resources. I have been living here long enough to understand the attitude of Federal Officers. If they ask, produce. Simple.

NB: It could be VO incharge of the file based in Lagos processes ONLY SDS stream, and regular are pulled out by other regional office or Ottawa.

We can disagree but I don't wish to have this prolong other than to advice OP to submit fresh application if time allows.

It doesn't matter. Just back it up with the consent letter stating that he is your husband (hope you submitted marriage cert), the money is jointly owned and he has agreed that the money in the account should be used towards your studies. Chikina.
Thank you, I'll do just that. Does it have to be notorized?

I don't think there is much to advice than to resubmit what IRCC request. Make sure they don't differ. In future, if you could hide your name, you can also hide Agent name and Number..
Thanks, but I didnt leave my details on the message and I didnt use any agent.

Regards,

Hello @Simba112,

I still disagree with your position. It is also my hope that you are not misunderstanding me. You will see that my beef was directed to the IRCC and not towards you, I hope you were able to decode that.

1. I have mentioned it before that if a newbie VO gets hold of an application they can easily mess it up. If there is knowledge gap, there should be a second level review before the application is refused.

2. Again the request letter is clear, and shows that the NSE route is not mandatory, so applicants should not be penalised for not following it. They should advise if it is now mandatory, then people can adjust themselves.

3. VOs have been shown to put generic responses such as "no clear purpose of visit" for an applicant who is clearly going to study and has an LOA from a DLI. That is sufficient evidence to demonstrate purpose of visit.

4. Study permit applications from Nigeria are sent to Nairobi Kenya, it used to be Ghana, but I guess due to the volume of applications from Nigerians alone, probably made them send it to Nairobi where the general volume of applications from East Africans is much lower. The VO in "Lagos or Kenya" could not have thought the application was SDS based since they do not attend to applications from countries approved under the SDS stream, and if they did think it was, then that also shows gross negligence or incompetence or both on their part. If we pay for a service, we should expect reasonable not perfect service delivery.

5. Finally, I still stand by my position that we as Nigerians should have some self respect if we want other countries to respect us. We should consider alternatives if they continue to treat us unfairly.

I have no beef with you, your experience and contributions on these matters have been invaluable, and I do not want you to think I am upset with you, I am upset with the flawed system IRCC is using to evaluate applications from Nigerians.

Cheers.

Good evening Omofar and other members. I received a message yesterday from IRCC requesting that I submit my documents again because I filled a web form to submit the receipt of my first semester tuition payment for 2021 Fall semester. In the email, they said the information provided differ from the one they have their file. Pls see the message below and advise. I have done a draft of the letter to re-submit my documents previously submitted.

Good day XXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided; however, it differs from the one we have on file.

In order to better assist you, we invite you to resubmit your request by filling out the IRCC Web form and include the following information:

  • Surname and complete given name (including middle name, if applicable) - exactly as they appear on the passport or identity document,
  • Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD),
  • Client ID Number, UCI or Application Number,
  • Country of birth,
  • Type of application,
  • Current address,
  • Telephone number(s),
  • Email address, and
  • All documents submitted with your previous request.
We will gladly reply to your enquiry following reception of the above information. Usually, it takes us 5 business days to respond. Due to the impacts of COVID-19 however, it may take us longer to respond to your enquiry. We thank you for your patience.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

We would also like to suggest the following online services that might be helpful to you with any immigration, refugee and/or citizenship future requests:

Sincerely,

Liannet, agent 4533
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: If you are not the intended recipient or if you received this communication in error, please delete the message without copying or disclosing it.

Note The information provided may change without notice. If there is conflicting information between the text in the email and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the Citizenship Act or their regulations, the Act and/or Regulations prevail. This email was sent to you in the language of your choice. The information on the IRCC website is available in both official languages. The masculine form is used for convenience; it refers to all genders.
It isn't even necessary you update them with such information since they didn't ask for it.
If the information in the receipt you sent them through the Web form is the same with what you have in the document you have sent earlier. You don't need to resubmit anything. The agent clearly doesn't know what he/she is doing.
I had similar experience with the a client. I simply enquired about her application progress through a Web form only to get a mail from an ircc agent that the information I provided is different from what they have in their file. But because I am sure of the information I had submitted earlier and had already seen the progress report in the online account I just ignored it.

Hello everyone,
I got 3 notifications at the same time on my process few minutes ago
One was a medical request letter, then biometric validation letter and then a refusal letter (respectively)

After my biometric appointment in April I got an email stating I was eligible for Nigerian student express that I should submit IELTS results and prove of funds, but they also stated that if they don’t get a reply from me from a specific date(can’t exactly recall)
They’ll use the regular channel for me, and I asked in this forum and some other people
And they said it was optional to reply.... so I didn’t.

My refusal letter states that I’m being refused because I have failed to comply to the submission of those documents (IELTS and prove of funds)

Please does anyone know what I should do next or is anyone having a similar issue

Please help me!!!!
It’ll be really appreciated
To best of my knowledge, this is injustice. As long as the school that gave you admission didn't request IELTS from you. No IRCC officer or agent has the Authority to request such. Unfortunately you can only seek redress if can hire a lawyer in Canada.

Study permit timelines

Submission Date: May 2nd
Biometrics Request Date: May 3rd

Biometrics Confirmation: May 6th
Request Letter for myBankStatement service and IELTS: May 15th

MyBankStatement and IELTS were submitted on: May 24th (My bank platform for this was down for weeks)

Medical Request letter: May 27th

Medical Passed on: June 12th (Had problems finding a closer date)

Original Passport Request: August 12th.

Start to finish was 3 months and 10 days. Took Nine weeks from medical passed to passport request. God has been merciful. When God works with the preparation of Man, wonders happen.

I wish us all success.

NB: IELTS used was General which was taken months back without NSE in mind.

Quick one: Please how long does it take for your passport to come back after submission. Thanks.
Congratulations
But it still kinda confusing to me
1. Why would they accept IELTS general instead of IELTS Academics
2. Why Mybankstatements and IELTS when you didn't apply through NSD

Though some agents and officers of IRCC can be very funny but they do have basic standard process they must be followed. I find this very had to believe but once again congratulations.

True. I tell people to do all they can to comply with both mandatory and optional requirements. You can't say if they just received a new memo as they are about to treat your file making optional mandatory.
They cannot just receive a new memo. Every internal memo is subject to standard procedure. It doesn't just change. Some of their agents and officers can be "very funny" at times.
