Hi, thank you for your insight. My question is this, will I be granted a study permit if I would like to come to Canada with my six months old daughter. Note that my sponsor is my husband with over 7 million naira in his account monthly, business is registered with CAC. So there's enough money for daycare or nanny.

Thank you for visiting. If you can, kindly find some time to read through some of my posts on recent developments concerning the Canadian study permit application process, especially to Nigerians, and also how to assess your circumstances before applying.

Now that being said, no one can really say anything for certain anymore about how a VO would respond to any application.

VOs will look at your application holistically (at least that is what they are supposed to be doing), thereafter determine if your application should be approved or not. Finances are not the only factor that determines the success of an application. As a matter of fact, N7mm is not a lot of money when it comes to applying for a study permit, especially if you are not on a scholarship. The VO would still question your ability to support yourself and your child. As a rule of thumb, I would suggest you apply first, and hopefully, if you are approved, then put in a dependent application for your baby.

But you have to consider the other factors that are directly associated with your application that the VO will take into consideration before making a decision. Finance is not the only one on the list.

Please I need advise on what to do next, my student visa was refused due the following reasons

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(c) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada.

Based on the contents of the refusal letter you posted, I will suggest you consider looking into other countries in Europe or Asia for studies.

But my dad’s SOA shows he has 53M, which is equivalent to 195kCAD. I have a Bachelor’s degree. No one is accompanying me there

The VO would be wondering why a family friend would want to spend this amount of money sponsoring you in Canada . Do they not have family to cater for ? What benefit is it of them to sponsor you? So if you can explain or write clearly in your SOP, you might have a chance. If you’ve read the thread , you will see that They also consider other factors except from finance . If possible , pay for one year tuition before application.

You can apply again but ask yourself if it’s really worth the stress???

living in Canada is not easy both weather wise , employment and distance. That PR that’s enticing everyone is not easy to get as well . It comes with certain requirements before one can be eligible. You can read about it or YouTube it

The phrase is my comment is 'most likely'. I have had a client who the embassy requested for his medical, he passed it, and his application was still denied.

In most cases, if you did not do upfront medical, and you get a correspondence letter before a medical request, your application will likely be refused. That is the trend. You should get a medical request before the correspondence letter. The correspondence letter is actually an indication that your application is being wrapped up. After the correspondence letter, you should either get a passport request or a refusal letter.

Why the late application when Canadian Study Permit applications from Nigeria takes over 60days to process...
Hope ur chosen Program relates to ur previous degree. Were u able to convice the VO that u'll leave Canada on consummation of ur program in ur SOP? Cos, this is usually the point at which thos VOs hold one to ransom even when u met all the requirements.

I did my biomtrics on June 6th, I'm still waiting for visa till now.. Almost 5 months
