It's like you guys don't get I ain't going short cut infact all my applications are loged in correctly because of this thread but have seen most comments which are a bit offensive....yes hard truths are good it all depends on how you approach people, you said Jesus had to make tough decisions and all, fine but if he was not welcoming to people, if he didn't have the words of encouragement, if he always shunned people off, his ministry won't have been successful....yeah people are trying on this group without the right approach people on this forum people would be afraid to ask questions...weather appropriate or not and thinking they might get shunned ....I never said what sky00797 did ain't good in fact he has tried because of his response but some people nead clearity...they need to digest all...we are all different some can tolerate and some cannot....I ain't fighting with anybody this group helped me alot seriously..... nigeria is hard and people are looking for shortcuts fine but majority of those looking for shortcuts are people who are told bluntly....if you try you go fail.. Galatians 5vs 22 talks about fruit of the spirit where it mention temperance irrelevant of the questions even if it not possible say it in the nicest way possible....Mr omofar and sky am not teaching you how to run your forum and am not trying to give negative vibes and all I only asked that question because I referred someone to this group who had that same issue.....to round it up yeah hard truths is compulsory but with hostility and being able to embrace all this group would thrive....and sorry if I offended any one including mr sky 00797
Please let’s not turn this thread into who said and who didn’t.

Let’s move on.

If they used to give red wine through the phone, you will be getting a carton now.

I saw that “moronic” comment when I woke up. You actually defined it properly , it is actually moronic. I did not even have the strength to reply when I was seeing Church this , church that.

With the way Nigerians are quick to shout God in their defence, you will think that by now Nigeria will be the best country in the world. With all the prayers and jumping up and down the mountain, you will think Nigeria will be booming. Like you said God only blesses your work when you have done the right thing. You have to obey the rules first!

I was once on this thread also asking questions about studying in Canada, then I didn’t even have the privilege of getting a detailed response from Omofar. I just took my time one day and read word to word from the 1st-last page. After reading, I just stopped my application to MUN and started looking for other means. My profile is even better than some people here but I’d didn’t want to try my luck especially with the whole sponsorship thing. One thing that I have never gotten in my life is a VISA REFUSAL and I did not want Canada to dash me that. Having that is already a dint and might hinder your future applications in all countries.

Truth be told like Omofar said, Canada is not for everyone. Let’s learn to cut our coat according to our sizes. If you or your parents cannot afford it or you cannot get a government sponsorship, look for other alternatives!! There’s Europe with low fees and various countries offering quality education (even though most of you are only looking to elope and not actually study). You all keep making things harder for genuine applicants. Uncle this , Friend that, In-law bullshit.

From April 1st , Germany is putting more strict rules for Nigerian applicants. This was a country where getting a visa was very easy. Just show your blocked account and bid your family farewell.

I understand and sympathise with everyone who is looking to leave Nigeria because of the situation at hand, however I wouldn’t lie to you if you don’t meet the requirements.

Yes I am a critic, I accept.
Thanks for noticing, but please let’s do things the right way first before praying to God.
Sure the situation in Nigeria is tough which makes Canada the best place to travel to....but they are other countries...I even started a process on Australia visaafter reading all on Canada visa on this thread although I put in an application but not into it.....I get you point really.. actually with the way we pray and all nigeria would have been the best in Africa. .but when a Nigerian man tells you all is cool recheck him again....so to all out there I wish you all the best..

@Ologun

However you may want to understand Omofar clear motives and endless help with detailed explanation on Canada study permit application is left for you but his stand remains the same, here we can't preach shortcuts even if you brand it with new names it will remain short cut. No room for sentiment here.

Last year I was having just 3m and I wanted to get loan to support the 3m. By good grace I found this group, I reviewed the chats and messages in this group, at the end I found out that my fund was less and if I take loan I may complicate my fund if I fail to defend the loan very well. At that point I decided to defer my admission to 2020 Sept intake to avail myself sometime to save up my salaries. Today I have 9m which I think can give me a positive ground and also provide me with genue proof of source of income.

The bottom line is you are speaking as an agent, u can not deny that ur not an agent because u sounded like a typical Nigeria agent who always find solution to every client because they want business. From ur own side is good because u may make more money but the truth is many have had refusals due to fund than u think, so it need to be hammered with all alacrity.

Fund is vital part of Canada study permit application and can not be addressed with sentiment.

Thank you

Yes I get you....am not saying to go through shortcuts....if you go through it you definitely blame yourself my dad also had 9m to support I also am for fall 2020 intake but because of what Mr omofar told me I can remember avidly he said to pay some tution deposit first...then if am have not traveled before to consider traveling first to Dubai or shengen countries then come back to start the processing which involves money alot....so I had to sit down and think on what he said...at that moment I knew I had two options either I follow this advice or just continue with mine so I thought hard on it then I sticked to his advice.....am not saying shortcut is good infact people on this thread don't follow shortcut ooo u always regret it....but we humans when we are in a state of desperation and despair we act based on whatever idea comes to our at that moment whether good or bad...only someone with experience would think twice...so to people without experience if they come we try to explain it to them the nicest way possible, even if it's not possible the situation they bring ain't plausible cause when you tell some people bluntly it ain't possible they go elsewhere to look for shortcuts and it affects us in general cause if he gets a refusal the visa refusal rate keeps climbing up and it affects other potential students
P.S Am not an agent ooo I ain't Mr omofar or my sky 00797 don't come and prophesy to me with the anointing in your mouth am still learning ooo

Good day, i hope we are all doing okay? I'm not here to judge anyone or say anyone is wrong but i feel i should add my two cent. @Chiboy paulson you asked a question few days back.. i hope you see this..you asked if you can use your dad's business partner as your sponsor. to be honest you can package the best application and still be rejected, no one can guarantee you an approval or denial but put yourself in the VO's shoes and that will make it easy. don't let anyone here give you the wrong information or informations they are limited to, people do research EVERYDAY!!! i have seen people and i mean a lot of people use outsiders who are not family as sponsor and get their visa stamped, while those with all the family in the world get rejected. this is Nigeria fam, we always have a way around everything, no matter how difficult, just don't submit a fake document that can be traced.. the truth is, it's not easy to prove why an outsider will want to sponsor you when he has other burden to carry but you cant tell me cause your parents don't have the means to provide doesn't mean you wont have a better life if someone is willing to take the responsibility. don't get it twisted, want to listen to my advice? don't let anyone kill your shine telling you what is possible and what is not.. trying doesn't kill, i have seen people make it out of worst situations.. do you know how many people get their visa stamped through different means everyday in Nigeria but are not on this platform? do you know how many people? you can't tell me they all had rich parents or wealthy uncle with same surname.. nah!.. my advice?

1. get yourself a very very good agent who knows what they do and are good at what they do, an agent with good review.. it is all about convincing the VO.. they are not stupid either, so they understand how everything is.

2. pray, pray hard

that's all and you are good to go..

this is my two cent tho, not here to annoy anyone, not like i know it all, just thought i should give a piece of my own advice.
This fellow is actually the agent of confusion... I think he has moved on now... I wish him well..

Greetings Everyone,

This is an old post, please READ it, empower yourself. If you get stuck, then contact us here. If you cannot be bothered to try, then send me a DM.

On the other hand, I have been getting emails from several people asking me to assess their chances of getting a study permit approval based on their finances. Unfortunately, I cannot do that because that is not the only criterion that the VO is using to assess an application. Furthermore, this is not my primary job, so I do not really have the time to respond to all the emails or DMs I get. So I have decided to address the issue again, even though I have done it before. I will do so for the benefit of those who are just visiting for the first time or are new. One more thing before I go into this issue. When I started this thread, I had over 90% confidence in the study permit application process, it was fair, and just. All one needed to do was meet the requirements and you got your study permit approval, today that is different. My confidence in the process has fallen to about 30-40%. So I will offer suggestions, it is still up to anyone reading to decide to move forward with it or otherwise. What I am doing here is voluntary, so your attitude towards it should be the same, you can take it or leave, but there is no need for unnecessary fighting or arguments! Okay, let's dig in...

I see some people here coming to ask about how to get admission, well sorry to burst your bubble, that is not the purpose of this thread. The purpose of this thread remains the same, and that is to help those wanting to apply for a Canadian study permit navigate their way through the process such that they can increase their chances of getting their permits approved.

So before putting in your application for a study permit, you need to consider the following factors

1. Your personal profile

2. The Logic of your application

3. The preconceived perception of the Canadian VO towards Nigerian applicants.

1. Your personal profile: The Canadian application process does not give room for a face-to-face interview, everything is based on documentation. Since the VO is unable to see you, he/she needs to be able to build a profile of the kind of person you are in their head. The profile is a picture of some sort, that give the VO an idea of the kind of person you are, based on that profile the VO will classify you into a low, medium, or high-risk applicant and based on that make a decision on your application. If you are considered high risk, then no matter if the logic of your application is sound, you are still likely to be refused. Please bear with me, I am getting there. The forms you feel will help the VO determine your profile. So things like your gender, age, level of education, work experience, personal net-worth, previous international travel history, your nationality (in this case Nigeria) will determine your profile. Right off the bat, the fact that you are a Nigerian already brings up some level of risk that would not be associated with if you were applying as a US, UK, Australian, Japanese, Samoan citizen etc. So let's take the following scenarios

Applicant A: 17 years old, has been traveling overseas for the last 14 years for holidays, goes to an expensive school, the applicant also speaks fluent French, the father is a high net worth individual, has many businesses interests and is now applying to study engineering at the Mcgill University.

Applicant B: 27 years old, graduated from the University of Nsukka in marine biology 4 years ago, has been working as a biology teacher are kekedike secondary school, never traveled out of Nigeria before, and is now applying to go for a Masters degree in Fisheries at Ryerson University...

Who is likely to be profiled as low risk and who will be profiled as high risk?

2. The logic of Application: This simply refers to the ability of an applicant to Logically meet or even exceed the minimum requirements for a study permit approval as set by the Canadian embassy. There are three components required, these include clear purpose of visit, ability to fund the visit, and clear intention to return to one's own country upon completion of studies.

a) Clear Purpose of Visit: This is simply 'why are you applying to visit Canada?' An applicant must be able to demonstrate clear purpose of visit. In this case, it is to study. How do we know it is for study. You provide evidence. What evidence? A letter of acceptance (LOA) from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada. Okay the VO will see this and will say fine. But he/she is trained to probe further. They want to establish the logic behind the plan to study in Canada. So why not study in Nigeria, is the course not available in the almost 180 universities in Nigeria? Is the course at the appropriate level of study, if not why? Oga you have a Bachelors in Mathematics, why do you now want to pursue another bachelor's degree in social work? You have a degree in Biochemistry, why are you pursuing an advanced diploma in food science? The VO must understand the logic behind your actions, if there is no clear logic, then your purpose may be questionable, and that is not a good assessment for the applicant.

b) Ability to fund the purpose of visit: Recall that the VO has already classified the applicant based on his/her profile. The VO will now use this to confirm or dispute his/her suspicions about an applicant. Now this is where many people get it wrong, they think Canadian VOs are impressed by the volume of funds in an account. They are NOT! They are interested in who is the sponsor, why would the sponsor decide to invest so much money into the applicant's study ambitions, is the sponsor credible, will they follow through, what will they gain by sponsoring the applicant, has the sponsor demonstrated that the source of income is from legitimate business activities? Are they in paid employment or running a business, if running the business is it registered, do they pay taxes, what is their net-worth etc, so it is not about the money, but also about the sponsor. It is easily believable if a parent is sponsoring their child, why because they are responsible for the welfare of that child. It is easily believable if a bank is sponsoring an applicant, they will be getting the return on investment via principal and interest payment of the loan. It is less believable if an uncle or daddy's friend is sponsoring the applicant, does this uncle or daddy's friend not have his own children or personal responsibilities to cater to, what do they have to gain. It is more believable if there is a scholarship by a well-known organization being awarded to the applicant. etc So millions in the account means NOTHING without context and logic. However, imagine a 30 year old man relying on sponsorship from his father-in-law. He is unlikely to get a permit approved.

c) Applicant's intention to return to their home country: Congratulations if you have made it this far. I know the story is becoming too long but bear with me. The applicant's ability to demonstrate their INTENTION to return to their home country is key. In many cases, it is almost impossible to demonstrate this. How do you measure someone's INTENTION, it is an abstract thing. We see very rich people who sell all they have and migrate to Canada, USA, Australian because they want a better life for their children, they are tired of insecurity, poverty, power issues, bad roads, they just want a better quality of life. So personal assets cannot be a measure of someone's intention to return. We see people with well-paid jobs who also want to leave for the same reasons outline above. So a good job is not really a measure of one's intention. We have also seen people leave their loved ones in order to migrate for a better life elsewhere, so family ties is not also a good measure of INTENTION, in fact, some leave because of their family, in order to work hard and be sending money home to help support the family. So here one can only try your best and hope that after looking through the entire application, the VO makes a judgment call that you are low risk and approves the application. Nevertheless, you still need to make an effort to do so. This can be assessed by your profile, previous travel history, work experience, personal net-worth, assets declaration, family ties, job prospects upon return etc
