So, remember that i am applying for myself and then i am applying for a open permit for my partner, so i have to fill out his document, but i will but both of our documents in on envelope together.
so being that i filled out his forms, is it ok for him not to sign it?
there is a part on the file that asked if it was done by a family member.

No, you would sign your own study visa form (you are the principle applicant) and he would sign his open work permit form. Also you both would fill your family information form separately and each one would sign his/her own. Same goes with schedule 1 IMM5257. Another person can only sign on your behalf if the applicant is a child under 18 and you are his/her parent/legal guardian. I don't know of any other possibility.

Yes you put the entire package together in a single envelop and expect it to be processed together.

Thank you very much. I am just waiting on my police record, hopefully by Wednesday I am apply. ;D ;D :D

Thanks very much, you have helped me a lot. I will keep you posted.

By the way the 'family information' it says full name, do I have to give my family member's middle names too?

No problem, i am glad i could be of help. You should use the name your family members have on their official documents. Whether that includes a middle name or not, they should tele.

The reason is that if at any point latter you introduce or they investigate your ties for some reason, the previously provided info should match. It would get confusing if you mentioned a middle name here, which is not on say passport or National identitiy card / Social security card / driver's license of that person or vice versa.

I applied for the visa today!! I feel so relief, I hope it was done complete. All I can do now is pray for the best.

Thanks for your help so far

1. Can someone tell me what are the questions the immigration officers will ask?

2. Do they ask to see the exact amount of money you put on the study permit form?

3. Is it necessary to take the whole 1 year expense at a time and show it to the immigration officer at the port of entry in Canada? Or partial amount is ok as we can bring the rest amount gradually later on?

4. What form of proof do they want, does it have to be Cash or bank draft?

5. Or we need to carry our sponsor's bank statement also to show them?

Please share your thoughts and landing experience as a student.

Thanks for kind help.

My 7 weeks should be up from Monday for my visa. I used the drop box, so I didn't get a receipt or any notification. What can I do now. Anxiety is killing me.

If you haven't had any confirmation from the embassy and your standard processing time is over, you can email them.

You should be able to find your respective embassy's immigration section email id on the corresponding website.

Please include all your details like

Full Name, DOB, passport number, type of application (work, visit, study), date applied, Dropbox / Courier name and tracking number if available that can be used to link your application receiving date, address and telephone number.

Missing any of the above might result in them not being able to locate your application. I have suffered this, so trust me and be cautious.

Lastly, if it is in process and submitted appropriately, you should be provided with a file number that you can use in all latter communications.

Thanks alot. I use the drop box so I didn't receive any receipt. The procedure is that you hand the package to the security guard and they drop it in the box, so right now im worried. What if he didn't put it in the box?

Based on what I just said, other than me knowing what happened I have nothing to show as prove that the embassy received my application.

I told my school about my situation and they sent them a fax today. However they asked me to send the embassy a email asking if they received the fax. Is it a wise idea for me to ask the embassy that?

Additionally I am running out of time because I have not confirmed housing because I don't want to pay and I'm not sure if I got the visa. Plus begins September 5th.
I am wondering if I might get avisa rejection if I email them?

Im going to take the chance and email them with the info you said earlier.

Pray for me.

I assume the dropbox you are referring to - is the official one of the embassy itself and there is no courier involved. So just mentioning the date on which it was dropped should be fine.

It is perfectly fine (rather better in my opinion - since you make a case for processing your application faster) to email them and GIVE ALL OF THESE DETAILS about your classes being started and housing and fax from your university.

You should tell them you are getting narrow on time i.e. classes starting sep 5 - plus you might be losing the chance to acquire housing. Then mention that your university sent a fax to support that dated x, If there are any details like from / too of fax or fax number, including that might help too. You can ask, that did you receive that?

I have seen a few cases in which embassy did help processing faster when some body was narrow on classes being started, a conference etc. the letter (fax) from university would provide evidence of that, so i guess you are good to go.

All the very best.

Thanks guys.
My total school fee for the 2 years is $36, 570. I showed that I had $52, 000.plus. they say you should have tuition plus $10, 000 for first year expenses plus $4000 for my spouse.

As for proof of common law relationship:
I signed the common law form from the website. Plus notarized it.
Showed our car tittle we both our names
Showed 2 bank statements with both our names
Showed that he was on my work insurance.

Those were my only proof.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Therisaw, did you show proof of sponsorship as well from your family/non-family relations? I have submitted my application 2 weeks back and we showed similar proof of funds, except that for my tuition and fees, it will be shouldered by my mother (Canadian citizen) and included her financial docs. My spouse and kid are included in the application hence an additional $7,000 in our funds requirement.
