just to clarify ur planning to apply for TRV and once ur in canada as a visitor u plan to apply to OWP right? if so then yes u can do it but u will have to pay the appropriate fees mostly i think it will double ur application fees as u apply twice ... just something to keep in mind.

Yes, I came to know about the charges, it's almost double.
Since it is less time consuming, I'm planning to go ahead with the same.

yes they r the same just make sure u add proper proof of funds, ur marriage certificate, ur spouses study permit/study visa etc while applying as it is not in the check list if ur from india.

I'm working in Middle East, hence would be applying from here.
How much funds would be ideal for visitor visa and then later to convert it into OWP?

Guess what!!!!!!

After nine looong weeks I finally got the visa for myself and the open work permit for my spouse.

Thank you guys very much for the support, I seriously couldn't have done it without you.

I'm so excited.

Now I need to find a place to live and book tickets, because my school starts September 5th.
