Anyone got any updates yet? I submitted my case specific enquiry but they have not responded. My application is almost 10 weeks. This is very frustrating. >:(

I got an e-mail from them today requesting my passport so I just mailed it to them. Fingers crossed!

Me too man!
So did you get your status updated?
Now the mailing seems to be a little bit confusing.
must include:
"Any applicable VAC fees, such as passport transmission fees" -- I paid 125 dollars while applying online, so is there other fees?
"We return passports and documents to addresses in Canada by US Postal Service First Class Mail only." -- I never been to canada before, so how do I provide a canada address (and for sure I need my passport with my visa while getting into canada)

Hey I mailed my passport to the visa office in LA today. I think the applicable fees is if you submit it to the visa application centre in person. If you live in the US, you just have to send your passport and copy of the request letter. I made mine first class with tracking and also did the same thing for the return envelope.

So did you send them a check or money order for the applicable fees?

There is no applicable fee...You just gotta mail it through USPS(flat mail eapress with a stamped returning envelope.) That applicable fee is needed only when you submit it at a Visa Application Centre.
