Application Submitted - October 30, 2013

Passport Requested - December 17,2013

Passport Submitted - December 19, 2013

POE letter issued - December 27, 2013

Passport Received with Visa - December 31, 2013

I applied online on Sep 20th and they asked for my medical examination on December 17th. I did the examination and made sure it was forwarded to them by Dec 23rd, but still no updates from them. I'm really worried.

Hi, i haven't gotten any updates yet. I did my medicals on the 31st of Dec. I'm hoping i get an update this week. When are you supposed to resume school in canada? Mine is the 7th of January

Did you apply online or by paper?

My semester starts tomorrow! It's crazy. Here cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how.asp it says that a medical can take more than three months to be processed. ??? Do you know anyone with a similar situation that got his/her visa on time?

Also, have you tried contacting LA? Do they answer your emails?

I tried contacting them...but they didn't reply me. I don't think the medicals should take that long. 2weeks maximum if they are no complications. Did you apply online?

Yeah I applied online. They didn't reply to my emails either.
Well, wish all the best for you man! Please keep us updated if you hear back anything from them.

Hey did you send them a case specific enquiry? They usually respond when you send them that.

I have tried that too (sent two actually before I got the request for my medicals). I guess I would send the another enquiry today.

also, I appreciate your concern about sharing experience ...
for me
I am a visitor to Canada 15 months ago till now (with my family)
I got an admission offer from the University of Calgary, so I applied for study permit online, but they refused it as it done from within Canada ...
now, I intended to apply to LA
does anyone of you has a similar case ?
should I send my application by mail ? or I can apply online to LA to save time ?

It's better to apply online. You don't have to worry about your application not delivered on time. All the Best to you.!

my main problem is that I am physically inside Canada, visitor,
so when I applied to study permit, they refused it,
I already applied online and refused,
how can I apply online this time but directing my application towards LA office ?
or I should send my application by mail to them ?
kindly advise in details, I don't wanna get refusal for the second time,

Are you a resident in the United States? if so then you can mail your application to the Los Angeles Consulate since you don't want to risk being refused for the second time. If you want to apply online you can start again by using the online questionnaire. NO, I am not a USA resident, I am an Egyptian, currently a visitor to Canada,
it is so difficult to fly 18 hrs to Egypt to apply, so I thought to apply at the USA, as it i the nearest country,
