But you need to verify that by asking him under which program in Ontario he receives money. Do the cheques or money deposits in his bank account come from the Province of Ontario? Or the federal government?

If he is actually receiving Canada Pension Plan-Disability or Employment Insurance-Disability payments, he may not be barred from sponsoring you. If he's receiving Ontario payments that are not for a disability he is not allowed to sponsor you.

I'm concerned that your overriding purpose here is actually just to get to Canada. I don't know if you actually want to marry your boyfriend more than you want to be in Canada, because these are very serious matters and you're not exactly approaching them seriously.

If you are thinking of a study visa, you'll need probably $25,000 Canadian - per year - in your bank account. And then in Canada, for him to sponsor you, you need to have lived together for at least a year, be able to prove it, and also prove how your boyfriend will pay for all your expenses.
