Hello,
I am 25 yo,
I would like to know please
I wanna move in with my bf
I currently doesn’t have a degree
So considering the student visa,
1 what’s the process for a student visa?
2 we both getting a social assistance therefore how the sponsorship gonna be applying?
Thanks

If your boyfriend, who I assume is a citizen, is on social assistance for any reason other than disability, he cannot apply to sponsor you as a spouse. You would need to be married, and so forth.

If you're asking how your boyfriend could sponsor you for a study visa - he can't, unless you're talking about him financially sponsoring you, but that would raise serious questions about your ability to pay for your studies and time in Canada and likely lead to a rejection.

First, thx for your reply
On what terms he can sponsor me?
I have a disability & he gets social support.
And about study visa ,
I am asking what’s the process as a another question but you know am thinking about the future I wanna live with him, I study & then what we do.
Thx

Is he a citizen of Canada? He can apply to sponsor you as a spouse if you two are spouses (married, common-law, conjugal partners separated by immigration barrier): https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ship/spouse-partner-children/eligibility.html

For a study visa, you get admitted to a Canadian school, get a letter of confirmation of admission, and you apply for a study permit. You need to demonstrate that the course makes sense for you, that you have the funds to pay for it and your living expenses (more than $10,000 CAD), and will leave Canada once you have completed your studies.

While it's very sad to say, if he is on social assistance for any reason other than disability, he will not be able to sponsor you as a spouse until he is off social assistance. You will need to qualify for immigration to Canada on your own, and sadly, there is no immigration stream for persons with a disability. You would need to qualify for economic immigration, or get a job after a study permit via a PGWP and stay in Canada long enough to apply for a PR.

And also what about when marriage then does he allow sponsorship me?

I can't answer that for you. Try that tool that I linked. It will tell you if you are eligible to apply for any of Canada's visas and immigration pathways. If you are not, you need to think about other ways to be together with your boyfriend. Or he needs to get off of social assistance (I know this is difficult) and marry you, and sponsor you that way.

If you are receiving disability payments in your country that can also be an issue. For the sponsorship to be approved you need to show that he can support the both of you without any social assistance from Canada. If he has been on social assistance for a long time he should show that he has been employed for months before he starts the application process. For a student visa you will need to show you have access to 25K.

If both of you are getting social assistance for disability reasons - then you should expect sponsorship is going to be a problem and will likely end in refusal. At least one of you needs to be working. Also, you cannot be sponsored until you are either married or have lived together for at least one full year.

To qualify for a study visa, you'll need to show a bank balance of at least $25,000 to show that you can pay for international student fees and cover your living costs.
