hey all,
i need some help and your expert opinion over my situation.

my husband had applied for my spouse visa in september 2011
meanwhile the visa office has sent me letters to give them some additional documents.
now i have received a letter from them asking me to do my medical examination and also to submit my passport
now i want to ask what does it says about my current status and how much more time they will take to issue me visa?
online status of my applications says:
application received on september 2011
now in-process

is this good news and my wait is over or how much more time it will take?
please guide me..
many thanks

calm down, the ecass usually dont provide much details , it goes from received, in process and decision made (DM), even some applicants reported that their status changed from received to decision made , so if you want to know exactly what is going on what has being done and what is left you can order CAIPS notes.
If it surpassed the processing time of your Islamabad office then you should contact them

thanks much
i understand what you said, i had read some posts here stating same. i understand that thing about the online status. But could you kindly guide me that approx how much more time i should expect? They have asked for medical exams and submission of passport after 1 year and 4 months of my application's submission. the set processing time for pakistan is 26 months. so is it good news or they can drag it too long? or should i be happy and hopeful that i ll be done with the visa in 3 months (usually they say after medical exam it takes 2-3 months)

thanks again
cheers

this is good news, you are almost done ... for my wife she got her re-med and PPR in august and we waited till january for them to return the PP with the visa. so be happy, but understand that it may still be a few months before you get your PP back (based on current timelines).

follow this thread for other in the same position, http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/updated-topics/-t63735.19395.html

congrats! :)

For medical with passport it is around 3-5 months, if only passport then it is 1.5 to 2 months
