Hi there,

I am a Canadian PR and trying to sponsor my wife to be a PR. She is currently in Canada attending college, her study permit expires on early 2017. I guess she can also apply for a post graduate work permit after graduate so she staying here legally is not quite a problem..

I have read a few threads in this forum and seems there are a few pros/cons for either applying inland or outland. Anyone has a suggestion on which one to go? Me and my wife will occasionally leave Canada for trip or visit family so for her staying here the whole time while processing inland is a big issue. Should we go with the outland instead?

Thanks a million!

you answered your question.
you and wife will travel out of country, then she should apply for outland.

normally outland process faster than inland app.
not sure which VO she would have , did you check out processing time on cic?

CIC website states 10 months for outland, which is considerably faster than inland, but will risk being called for an interview..
My question is, if we apply inland, can she be able to leave the country during the whole process since she has legal status or not at all?

thanks a lot

same question except being pregnant
