Anyone has had success obtaining a tourist visa? Once again they rejected my wife's application. Silly me thinking once I get the SA, they may see that as a positive thing. So basically we tried before and after the SA no success. Any feedback is appreciated.

hi aldashti! Ur wife should go first in embassy of Canada in Daiya and ask a letter for police clearance and when u reach at the counter there is a prepared letter already at the counter they will give it to you without any questions and fill it up and u can go to police station in Dajeej for electronic fingerprinting and after 10days u can have ur police certificate...

Hello benvincent - I am not in your situation or experience enough in your case, about sponsorship while PR under process. I would encourage you open a new thread, under Family Class Sponsorship for some response.

On a side note - The best way to see what is going on in your case is to order the GCMS notes, it takes about 4 weeks . Also you can contact your local Member of Parliament in Canada to open a case on your behalf ( but I am not sure if that is an option if you are not a PR yet )

did you received an email from cic that u need to take a police clearance? If there is, that is the time u will need to go to embassy of canada in Daiya. Anyway, in my case they did not ask anything just tell them u need a letter for police clearance and voila they will handed you the prepared letter. Hope this will help you...

did you received an email from cic that u need to take a police clearance? If there is, that is the time u will need to go to embassy of canada in Daiya. Anyway, in my case they did not ask anything just tell them u need a letter for police clearance and voila they will handed you the prepared letter. Hope this will help you...

No we didn't receive an email requesting the police clearance. Just thinking of saving time, and handing them whatever, they may ask for in advance to save some time. We have not heard from the VO office yet. Is there an expiry date for these certificates? How's your application going? Thanks for the information.

In my experience once getting ready to start on your file they will send an AOR. It will have a file# for the applicant or will have the sponsor's UCI. The applicant will be assigned an UCI once the file is moved to the VO and starts(application) getting processed. Good luck.

1 You will need to send the consent form imm 5744 duly signed by sponsor n applicant
2 You will need to pay the $5 fee

There are 2 versions of information you can request (a) Electronic File and (b) Physical File. In most cases, the electronic version should meet your requirements. Asking for electronic version does not affect your processing times. Whereas, asking for a physical file, would mean that Ottawa would have to ask for the actual file to be sent to them and hence this would delay the processing time of your application.

The validity will be up to the validity date of your medical record. E.g if your medical is valid up to April 2016 your Visa Issued will have a validity upto then. Do note that if your passport is expiring before the validity of your medicals, the Visa Issued will Only be valid till the expiry date of your passport.
