Congrats Lamis. First big hurdle out of the way. Regarding the medical exam, there are instructions on-line country specific.. Hopefully, senior members from SA can shed more light on this. Alternatively, you can call CIC. When I inquired(CIC), I was told to wait for SA, then do the medicals, and use the file# to forward the results to the embassy. But mine could be different(spouse in Kuwait) I've read/seen different people do it different ways.. Good luck.

Hey .. By SA u mean sposonrship approval? Because i got that letter yesterday that approves me as his sponsor and they mentioned in the letter that he has to do the medical exam and send it to ADVO and today morning he did it but first they asked for the uci or file# and they told him that it needs three days then they'll send it directly to ADVO..i got the name of the panel physician from the cic website .. Hopefully everything will go smoothly thank u haldashti

this cic # never works for us my husband has tried many times within Canada. Yes 78 days are mentioned but it's been 78 days since we submitted our application n 8january ppl got their SA already. I hope n pray there is not any alarming sign.

They will only answer questions about sponsorship. It was always a pain to call them because of long hold time, but I was able to get to them. Again they will only help if its about Sponsor.

Hey guys im so happy we just got letter that confirms my eligibility as a sponsor to my husband and they requisted us to do the medical exam and transfer it to abu dhabi.. My husband is in saudi arabia my qs is does he have to get the paper online or does he get it from the doctor? And my other question is does he have to take with him this letter for the doctor?

Hello Lamis - Congratulation on your SA. For medical - there are generally a selective hospitals/clinics that do the medical and you can find the information on the CIC website. Not exactly sure if the process is different in Saudi - but for us in UAE, my wife basically made an appointment with one of the appointed clinics ( as it is on the CIC website ) - she didn't take any forms or papers with her. She just mentioned that she wanted to do medicals for Canadian Immigration. They booked her in and upon completion gave her a paper which has a barcode.

We sent this paper along with the application, in your case you will need to send this paper to ADVO in reference to your File Number which should be stated on your SA. If you have further questions just post away - All the best.

Do you or any other senior know the CIC contact number, how to call them within Canada?
I want to visit Abu dhabi for TRV but if you can share some detail, will be appreciated. i think i should go with the complete preperation, documents fee submission etc, and then with a solid emotional request letter
my SA is taking so long, n now i can see that you got a high patience level while this waiting time, when your all fellows have been gone through.

You can find CIC contact information in the following url http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/index.asp - generally if you are in Canada you can call 1-888-242‑2100 Mon - Fri 8 am to 4 p.m , however there is long wait before you actually speak to a live agent and you have to choose your options carefully on the phone.

I see you as per today you are about 78 Days into your processing time for your SA, and I strongly believe that you will be hearing from them before the end of the month or first week of April. Did you get an acknowledgment from them that they received your application ?

For TRV in Abu Dhabi, I would suggest have all your documentation prepared, fees - travel plans, show them your ties in UAE ( like job, NOC, full time studies, family members, if you were born there in UAE ) your ties need to be strong and yes a letter of support from your sponsor and a cover letter of sort from your side explaining and dont be shy on being emotional how you miss your spouse and you only want to see him for a short time.

Hello Zbaby. The wait time for SA is 78 days, no harm in calling them.. CIC # is 18882422100. Due to their volume, I suggest you call first thing in the morning, avoid Mondays. Regarding Impresso, I second that, ever since I've joined this forum, Impresso has been hopeful to me and others, Allah will reward for the good deeds and intentions. Good luck.

Zbaby, CIC web site which was last updated on March 12th says they are working on applications received Dec 22nd, getting close to your timeline. BTW, they update their processing times for SA on weekly basis, sometimes Wed, sometimes Thursdays.. cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

Try it from a land-line phone and not a cell phone. Your phone also needs to have toll free dialing capable. 78 days is an average time that they mention and you need to take that with a grain of salt. When we got our SA after 11 days from the prescribed time. So only a matter of time before you hear from them... so do not worry Insha'Allah

my husband is strongly suggesting me to apply for TRV, so just starting collecting documents and will appear soon in Abu Dhabi, is it the same Canadian embassy which deals in TRV located in Abu Dhabi mall or the other office visit visa center located in Union Bank building on Meena street. i have been there once when my husband was here n we found them very nice n cooperative. let see definitely will share my experience here with you guys.

I didn't notice the number under the barcode but as per some members this is the UMI number, but I am not quite sure what is the reference for this UMI.

Hello zbaby - just hold on a little bit long for your SA, you are not far away. In regards to your TRV , by all means go for it - get your documents in line and make sure you can prove your strong ties. The members who did apply for the visa in person mentioned that they went in person. Now it is unclear if you can go the main embassy in Abu Dhabi as Abu Dhabi Embassy does not like seeing people unless requested. So your best bet would be to go in person to a Visa Application Center (VAC) in Dubai or Abudhabi

In your case if you do mail the medical report to ADVO, I would suggest to include a cover letter with states your both your names / dob and also the file number for the application. The file number is not on the medical
