Hello fellow applicants,

I am in a very confusing situation thought to post my question here and get some suggestions. So my wife is a pakistani citizen but residing in uae under her dads sponsorship visa. I asked her to change her family on the passport before we send in application for sponsorship. But now when I think about the police clearance it will have her fathers last which is on her old passport would that create an issue on my file?

Thanks!

Hello mzm26, In UAE - aslmost every female sponsored by her father, have his last name attached to her name. Even in the National ID card or Labour Card and ADVO is aware of this.

In your application you must state, her name as it is in the passport and that is your primary reference. In regards to police clearance even if her name has her father's last name - it shouldn't matter.

You can also put in her national ID number in a section of the application.

Hope this helps.

Isn't your's and JenPin's Medical Already updated on ECAS ? Why would you have to do them again ? Hang in there you should hear back from them in the next month or so.

Yeah its updated but doesn't it expire in a year? And then we will have to get it done again, unless some miracle happens and we hear from them ::)
I hope we do thanks!! :)

It does expire in a year - I was just under the impression that once updated on ECAS - they have your medical information, so why need under one ? Perhaps I am mistaken .

Hello llij21 ,

I checked ECAS on Friday and had no update - I just checked it right now and it says " Medical results have been received " :o

Guess our medicals were updated on the 23 August ;D - which means ADVO is not completely Asleep !!

oh okay.. I was wondering you must have received AOR from them by now. It's been how many months since your SA.

Mine when i received my SA in a day or 2 my ecas updated to "Medical results have been received" SInce then no news or whatsoever. Hopefully they are working on our papers.

Hi Jenpin! You haven't heard anything from them since then? Saw you applied December of 2013.

If the medical expires before they finalise the PR application, there are chances that ADVO may request you to do your medicals again.

Yes I applied in December 2013 and got AOR/ADR from ADVO on 8th April 2014 whcih I submitted before the end of April 2014. After that no news.:(

There are applicants before me too who are still waiting for their PPR.

This is such a long wait!!! :'( :-[ >:( :o

what documents they have requested? have you tried contacting them? running 8 mos now. Seems like ADVO are slowing things down..

Hang tight.. You're almost there.. surely you'll get your visa first before us.. ;)

Hello llij21 - it has been 2 months since we got the SA. Hoping to get an AOR in the next few days. Also just realized the Medical Update on ECAS doesnot mean much and I dont think we should rely on it much.

Yes that makes perfect sense - Would you know how reliable ECAS is ? I think the only two real indication, that would mean something on ECAS are , In Progress or Decision Made

Never know who gets Visa First - all depends on the Immigration Office.

I am really concerned about the correspondence from ADVO - there are cases such as missing emails or even ADVO contacting the Principal Applicant Directly rather than corresponding with the Requested Representative. Hope we all have our correspondence in order.

Honestly, "medical results updated" has been written for ours for months!! after the additional doc request no contact from them whatsoever. Impresso you are right, ECAS isn't that reliable. There have been people who got "in progress" and didn't hear from them for months too. Nothing can be said it depends on the officer and the case. Those before me and JenPin are waiting, it all just requires immense patience!! :-X

Yeh - I wouldn't recommending relying too much on ECAS - the closet information one can get is by obtaining GCMS Notes, to know exactly what has been done so far. Our application is still in the early stages - so going to hold tight for now until we get an AOR and ADR 8)
