Hi guys,
Just wanted to update you all that I received an email from ADVO yesterday morning requesting additional document. They have requested a police clearance certificate from India as I had lived there for 3 years from 1999-2001. In our initial application, it said that you only need to provide PCC of those countries where you have lived for more than 6 months but only in the last 10 years. I was in India 12 years ago so I didnt include the Indian PCC. But now they requested it. I have already applied for it and will receive it in 10 days. ADVO have given me 45 days to send it to them.

I am just happy there was some progress on my application. It has been 10 months since we applied. This is the 2nd additional documents email request I received from ADVO. The last time I heard from them was 28 January 2014.

Hopefully they will finalise my PR when they receive this PCC. Fingers crossed x

Anxiouswife has had an update yesterday so hopefully its a good sign.

ADVO issues an AOR alongwith the request for additonal documents. I believe they receive the file within a week and after conducting an initial review of the papers, they request for additional documents as based on the timelines they second AOR takes about 2 to 3 months after the SPONSORSHIP APPROVAL.

Finally some update - that is some good news. All the best to you anxiouswife. Hope we get to hear from ADVO soon as well.

Does every single application get an ADR along with an AOR from ADVO ?? Wondering what more could they ask !

hi to all,
indeed i applied for spousal sponsorship and as per tracking they received my application on 21 May, while checking on-line service last Tuesday it also appeared. Now can some body help about my questions.
1. I did not receive any letter or email from CIC about receipt of my Application but just it appeared on line after 51 days that they received my application.
2.How long normally it takes for 1st stage sponsor approval.
3. Will they send me some letter or email and how long this letter or email will come.

I am the applicant and I am based in Dubai. I applied for the Indian Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) through the BLS centre which provides for visa and passport services for Indian citizens. It took 5 working days. See below requirements for applying for PCC:

You may also go to their website and call their Help Centre for further details.

Not necessary everybody gets an ADR. If there is a need to see additional documents, they will request for it. I was asked to submit the following documents:

- Proof that your Permanent Resident sponsor is currently residing in Canada and has been residing in Canada since the sponsorship was submitted. If your sponsor is currently residing in Canada, please provide copies of Canadian tax documents (Notice of Assessment (NOA), T1 and T4); three (3) recent pay stubs and any other document which proves that your sponsor is living in Canada.

- Complete copies of all pages of all passports/travel documents held by your sponsor since 2010. Please ensure that you include copies of all pages (including blank pages). All pages must be clearly legible.

Hello Mech1090,

As per the CIC website, currently they are working on applications received on May 16, 2014 for the 1st stage approval. You may see the same by clicking on the link below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

If you have mentioned your email id in the application, then all correspondence from CIC will be through emails, however sometimes they may send you a letter through post.

Hang in there, you should be hearing from them anytime soon now!!
