I forgot to mention I called the VISA office in Abu Dhabi but the Secretary keeps hanging up on me and never answers...I never had a chance to talk to her...did anyone else encounter that too?

I am syrian living in Saudi Arabia. I applied for immigration under Family class sponsorship on June 2013.
On July my Sponsor (wife) was approved.
Today October 2013, I received an email from Abu dhabi requesting additional documents, i.e., Residency Questionnaire and Police certificate from Syria.
When I filed my application last June, I attached police certificate from Saudi Arabia, but I couldn't get one from Syria because of the ongoing war, I enclosed a justification on a separate sheet of paper in my application.

But now they are requesting it again!!! What should I do???
Shall I send a justification again when I send them the Residency Questionnaire? Will they understand this situation, or my application will be rejected?

Please advise...

Try to write them a letter and explain why u can't get police certificate in Syria.maybe they'll understand u.

Hi,I found something for u,I read it to www.CIC.GC.ca ,I search how to get police certificate and I search sSyria,here's what I found if you lived outside Syria u will get your police certificate in Syria embassy in where u live now.so for u,u can getpolice certicate in Syria embassy in Saudi Arabia.now u just have to search where is Syria embassy in Saudi Arabia and tell them that you need police certificate.

OK,can they give u a letter saying that they stop providing it.so that u can send it to Canadian immigration. Just try..maybe they'll give u letter.

Hello,I don't think it will cause any problem.but if its bothering u let them know.email add (abdbi-im-inquiry@international.gc.ca) or go to www.uae.gc.ca and look for contact us and click on case specific enquiry and fill up the box there and send it.

I have applied for Canadian visa through Abudhabi Visa office. I had to cancel my visa and leave UAE due to personal issues. The immigration office has asked me to send a police clearance of UAE. Since I am no longer a Resident, can anyone help what is the procedure I need to follow. I have been told that my finger print has to be attested from UAE embassy and ministry of foreign affairs and document be couriered to police office, but they have not mentioned about the payment and how to make the payment(via cheque/DD) or something else.

Have a question here for any experts and would appreciate any help at all from anyone.

I currently reside in Canada, not in Quebec, and am intending on sponsoring my fiance, who resides in the UAE (Abu Dhabi office), to arrive here immediately after we get married over there.
However, prior to us getting married, I'd like her to apply for a visit visa so that she if possible, can come here and stay with me till her PR Card sponsorship process comes through.
She's got a decent job, can show a decent amount of cash in her bank statement and can prove strong ties to the UAE. She also has had visas issued for other countries previously with US, UK etc....So I'm hoping all that works in her favour.

Now here's my dilemma.
When applying for her visit visa here, should she state her purpose of her visit as just a tourist visa and coming here to meet friends and sight seeing without specifying that her fiance is here..

OR should she make it clear that her fiance, husband-to-be is residing here and she wants to visit him?

I understand that if she says her fiance is here in Canada, that it would make the chances of her getting a visit visa a little less as the officer might think she might just stay over here and get married over here, which is NOT what we intend.

However, if we do not disclose that her fiance is here in Canada, would it cause an issue in the sponsorship of her PR Card later on in the long run?
Also, if her visit visa for Canada does get rejected, would that impact the sponsorship application once we're married?

Any help at all would be appreciated immensely. Would be really grateful.

Under no circumstances you should make a false statement in your application.

She should state she's coming to visit her fiancé. Depending her job in UAE and ties to the residing country, VO will grant her visitor visa. She needs to leave Canada before her visa expires. Any violation of Canadian immigration rules will lead to delaying your immigration application.

I am in your situation as well, so instead of finding shortcuts, we are going through the process. The advantage I am having is, we have been in a relationship for 3 years and my wife studied in Canada. (That's how we met each other).

In my case, she applied for visitors' visa stating she wants to visit her fiancée (At that time we were engaged). When she was here, we got registered and now we are going through the process. We will hold a wedding next year.

I know it sounds like a sweet deal your fiancée can live with you till her PR gets processed, but it doesn't work to the favor of us most of the time. The right path is the longer one..
