My wife worked at home for some time in 2010 as a baby sitter. This income was duly reported for income tax purposes. We are not sure how to include this experience or not at all? please guide.

What is Option C printout? We have printout of my wife's tax return form from 2012; is it the same?

From the CIC guidelines, the Option C Printout is "the equivalent of the last notice of assessment you would have received in respect of the most recent taxation year and will serve as a basis for the calculation of your income. This printout is issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA, formerly CCRA) and you can obtain it free of charge by calling 1 800 959-8281." Apparently it only takes a few days for them to mail this out to you but if for some reason you absolutely cannot get it, you should include as much other information as possible such as your last tax assessment etc.

You should include all the documents CIC requests or you risk having your file returned as "incomplete" or at the least there will be delays in processing as they wait for you to produce these items later. If you dont submit it now, they may eventually ask it at a later stage.


As for the first question, I think you could put Self-employed and N/A under name of employer. Let's see if anybody can suggest other answers.

I wouldnt know what these would be as I am the sponsored person. My spouse is a Canadian PR and he moved to Canada in early 2013. He put in my application without the Option C and added a letter that he relocated just recently and will file his taxes upon the completion of 2013 fiscal year.

You could try other threads on Option C in this forum that would help you out. Sorry, cant help you out there....

Got aor from them in November 17 and submitted additional documents as required.After that no reply.

Can any one tell average time it takes here not as per their website.

The previous spreadsheet maintained on this thread had an average of approx. 8 to 10 months. However it can be possible that average processing time has gone up due to the strike last year.

I just hope they process it soon!!! This waiting is horrible...

Provide the following:
•birth certificates,
•baptismal certificates or,
•other official document confirming relationship for you and each of your family members. (including all pages of Household Registries, except CIS residents).

For any family member who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, send a photocopy of their:
•citizenship certificate,
•permanent resident card,
•Record of Landing (IMM 1000) or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or
IMM 5688),
•immigrant visa.

1. I am being sponsored by my spouse; we have no children; I am the only applicant. Can you please guide me if (other official document confirming relationship for you and each of your family members) applies to me?

2. I have no other Canadian family member except for my wife; does this apply to my sponsor (wife)? do I need to present the 4 documents required for Canadian family members?

I wanted to share some information for the benefit of people applying from Kuwait regarding Notarizing the photocopies and translation.

Since Kuwait is not a common wealth country so there is no notary service available here. The best and cheapest way to get things done is to get the photocopies certified by any lawyer. They will also translate the Civil ID into English and certify the true copy. (costing around KD 3 to KD 5 per page)

If someone desires, passports can be certified by respective embassies.
