Hi everyone,

I would like to sponsor my spouse, but I am student so I don't have any income. My spouse is an international student and he has a scholarship from his government. We are using this scholarship as our source of income since he is receiving about 3,500 Canadian dollar.

My question is: Can I sponsor him though I do not have and income at the moment.

Thank you

There is no minimum income amount required to sponsor a spouse. The only way you'd be refused if it you were on "welfare" or if there didn't seem to be any likelihood that the two of you would be able to support yourselves once the PR was approved.

Unless you are in Quebec, you will have to get a statement from your income tax with the amount you earned last year.
