I have a question my husband will gonna sponsor me by april but the problem is my wirk permit will expire on sept 7 but the process of inbound took 12 months or more.. Should i look for a new work to have a legal papers while waiting for my papers.?but the problem is i just gave birth and nobody will gonna take good care of my baby if i go to work..will the immigration gonna deport me.?or does it affect on the process of my papers if i dont renew my work permit.

you should apply for an extension of your work permit if you can or try to change your status to visitor visa. also, it is better to apply from outland, however, it depends on your country. for some countries, the processing time for outland is longer than if you are applying inland Canada. if you cant change your status or extend your work visa, do not overstay, otherwise it will create a lot of problems.

hi,

If you are going to apply inland, once they received your application you will on "imply" status. Also you can send an application for an extension for the work permit along with the PR application.

This is a cope paste from the e mail I received from CIC.

"You can apply for both an extension of the sponsored person's status as a visitor, student or worker and for their permanent resident status at the same time. If you choose this option, complete both an application to extend their status and an application for permanent residence. Make sure to include both applications, all the supporting documents and the necessary payment in the same envelope."
