Hi,
Can anyone please tell me how to know or tell when “Background Check” has started? Like what will it say on the status bar on online account.
Thank you.

My spousal sponsorship application is currently in process in Ottawa office.. Done with medical and biometrics.. Went from “Application received” to “In process” on 10 May.
What is the average processing times for Ottawa office?

Yes, I am planning to land..after that I will apply for spouse.
I am working in US, I stay 3 hrs away from border. can i travel every 2 weeks to canada during my spouse application ? My spouse is in india... I cannot stay for long time until the PR application is complete in canada.. Is anyone in the same situation, how to handle this ?
You must remain in Canada to sponsor your spouse. You can't keep working in the US unless you can commute from Canada.

Hello
We have applied for outland pr in august 2020 and we still have not received Aor.
We have contacted the MP and filled out the webforms but no luck

Is there anyone who is in the same situation? Also if anyone can suggest what should we do in this situation?

Thank you

I'm in the process of applying spousal PR application.

I have downloaded the forms and will start filling them.

I have few queries

1 I'm in Canada and my spouse is in India. So I can fill all the forms, validate them, send via email to my spouse, tell her to print them, sign them and send it to me via courier and then I can sign them and submit it to Sydney office. Is that correct ?

2. I have my IRCC account which I used during my PR process. Should I link her application to my account or does she need to have her own account ?

3. If I'm going to handle communication and send courier to Sydney office, is it must to fill representative form ?

4. Can we use digital signature ( not signed by pen) on any form?

5. Can I validate forms multiple times if i make mistake ?

Thanks in advance for all the reply.

Can someone please tell me how long after Pre-Arrival Letter do we get PPR?
Also, at this point, is it safe to say everything is going smoothly?

1. Yes, what you are thinking of doing is
correct.
2. I recommend you use your current
account. Having one account to see
everything just makes it a lot easier. In my
case, I am the sponsor and I linked the
application for PA to my account
3. Yes, it is must that you fill out the
representative form, or you will not be
able to get all communication. Always
best to keep one e-mail for
communication. Again, less confusion and
just more easy. You get all info related to
you and your spouse in one spot
4. I don’t remember right off my head, but it
will actually say on the form, if it needs to
be written or acceptable typed.
5. Yes, you can validate how many times you
wish.

my wife did medical in india on 21 of may. still no update. medical told us that we already uploaded.is there any issue or its normal?
My family medical was done on June 7 it was sent to immigration on June 9 and it showed on ECAS as 'medical has been received" on June 18. So it takes a while, give it a bit of time and it will be acknowledged by the immigration.

Each case is different and it also depend on your VO.

I have seen people get PPR a few days after getting Pre arrival and I have seen people wait a few months to get PPR.

You can get declined at any stage in the application but pre arrival is obviously a good thing as it shows your application is being processed.

I have few more questions as I have started to fill the forms, if anyone can help me.

1. Should I apply for my spouse's PCC immediately ?

2. I became PR in Oct 2019. Went back to India for 5 months and came back to Canada in March 20. Stayed here for 3 months and due to emergency at home, went back & stayed there for a year. I'm back in Canada now. Will I have to submit PCC?

3. Also, for form 5562 - travel history, do I have to fill info as her spouse ? If yes, after becoming PR (Oct 2019), what info will go there in that table based on info in 2nd point?

1. If your country specific checklist says to include it then you should.
2. Not for yourself.
3. Only for applicant not sponsor.
