Hi,

Thank you for your response. May I know what AIP stands for? And how long did you guys wait for this AIP from the date you received the CSQ?

Regards,
This letter is 'approbation in principal' it means that your are elegible to ask for RP but that they still need to check your background and medical. No one can tell the delay between csq and AIP . Look at my signature.... we had our AIP 21 month after we send our application.

Hi guys

I am just curious for spousal sponsorship. What could be the main reason or common reasons for spousal sponsorship refusal?

On my side, both my husband and I are genuinely in love recognized by both side of the family, we are not on welfare, we cohabitaed since our first meeting/dating phase Sept 2016. Engaged in Dec 2017 and got married in January 2018. We have been to places just us and with friends and family, no criminal records for the both of us . We share expense on rent, phone, internet and groceries. But the thing is we have no insurance to prove that we both recognize each other as spouse such as health insurance (he has Ohip but I don't have), and no car insurance since we have no car yet. What could go wrong? Thank you so much and I am hoping for a response
Did you get a refuse letter? Did they mention about the relationship being genuine?

Same here my husband have a child that lives in US and he never met him and is not in contact with the mother . Our lawer made a letter ( sworn declaration ) that he will not have him examined ( medical ) and that he is aware that he will never be able to sponsor him. They also send a lettre with the part of the affidavit that explain the situation. our lawer say that it's suppose to be enough.
Hi Minian! thanks for your response! Question, did you attach your letter of explanation to the Statutory Declaration or was the letter separate and you just mentioned in the stat dec that a letter with exhibits is attached? I'm sorry i have so many questions. We don't have a lawyer so my husband and I are essentially on our own and figuring things out as we go.

Hi,

I am applying family sponsorship application for my Wife(Indian Citizen) and 2 kids(US Citizen). I recently moved to Canada 1 week back, as they do not have a PR I am unable to get my family to Canada. Can I apply for a visitor visa for my wife while the PR application in process?

Also below are the application forms I am submitting for the sponsorship application, please let me know If there are more forms required.

It’s better to apply for visitor visa first and once they’re here with you, you can apply for inland sponsorships and owp. Trv might get rejected if PR is in process.

our lawer call the first letter ( the one that explain de situation with the qote of the affidavit ) ' lettre de transmission '. At the end of this letter they wrote ;
you will find attached the following documents
- Sworn declaration that Mr xxxx will not have his son examined
- Receipt of the permanent residence fees

So they attached 3 documents in the web form, the 'lettre de transmission' , the sworn declaration and the receipt.

Hope this will help !

Hi all, would anyone have any advice or experience on the timing of applying for Canadian PR while a work permit application is in process? I will outline our situation.

I am a Canadian citizen who has lived and worked in the UK for several years but I will be moving back to Canada in a few months to start a new job. My husband, a British citizen, also has a job in Canada and has applied for a work permit. We have been married for five years and we will be working in Canada from July. According to the IRCC site he is also able to apply for permanent residency from the UK (before we move to Canada) if I sponsor him to apply (family sponsorship, outside of Canada). We have read through a lot of the information from IRCC and have not found anything preventing him from submitting an application for PR now, even though he has already applied for the work permit.

So my questions:
(1) Would it jeopardise his chances of getting the work permit if he submitted the application for PR before the work permit were issued, and before we move to Canada?
(2) Should we wait until the work permit is confirmed and submit the PR application just before we leave? Or should we wait until we are in Canada?

The advantage of submitting the PR application now is that we have all the relevant documentation to hand. As there is some overlap with the work permit requirements (police report, medical examination etc) it could be easier, quicker and cheaper. If we were to wait until we arrive in Canada, we could apply via the spousal route but there would a period of settling into our new lives and work, time to gather new documents and fulfil the requirements from within Canada, at extra cost.

Sorry for the long message but thought it would help to provide a clear picture. Thanks in advance!

So, your question isn't really about spousal sponsorship - the spousal sponsorship megathread may not be the best place to ask it.

I think part the answer to your question is a question - has he checked his CRS scores? Are they above 470? Would he get an invitation through EE?

IRCC does get confused sometimes if you have multiple applications ongoing. It may be best to wait to submit the PR application. You may have better luck if you ask in the Express Entry forum as opposed to the spousal thread.

Thanks so much for your mega speedy reply.

The type of work permit has already been set through the employer, so we’re not exploring Express Entry. Furthermore, from what we’ve seen, EE has specific language requirements which seem like they would not be required given that this has already been satisfied through the professional requirements of his employer (and is from an English speaking country).

So I think that this is probably the most appropriate thread as we would be applying through the spousal pathway.

However, your comment about the timing of our application is interesting. Would you suggest:
(1) Waiting until we have received confirmation that his work permit has been approved but while we are still in the U.K. (this would still be a family class PR sponsorship)?; or
(2) Waiting until we are working in Canada, in which case this would fall under the spousal sponsorship class?

Sorry, EE is not family class sponsorship. EE is express entry, a different class of PR and a different forum/thread.

There are spousal pathways through EE, but none of them are a Canadian/PR sponsoring a foreign spouse.

Family class is when a Canadian/PR sponsors a family member. There is no language/skills/experience/etc verification - just relationship, criminality, and background.

Your assumption about language requirements and EE is best asked in the EE forum - you will still be required to provide up-to-date proof of language requirements.

1. No, applying for sponsorship will not impact the work permit app.

2. No point in delaying the sponsorship app. Apply as soon as you can.

I'm not quite sure where you are getting EE from? OP is asking about submitting an outland spousal sponsorship app and the effect that may have on an ongoing work permit app.
