Thanks for your quick reply...She is a Canadian citizen.
Based on what I've read here in the forums, if the sponsor is a Canadian Citizen she can apply even she's outside Canada just include a proof that she will return and live here with you once your Permanent Resident application has been approved.

Thanks but how could we apply for it? I mean while she is in Cuba...What should we do? She will only come for 2 or 3 weeks for our marriage and will go back to Canada after those weeks...

We've been in a relationship since 2009. But we do not have love letters or emails. We only sent messenger conversations starting only from 2016 since I can't find older conversations. I also have screenshots of our videocalls and I included it as well.
Thanks!

With regard to recognizing each other as a spouse and for financial support, were you able to provide it? we don't really send money to each other as we are both working and I am the only who can provide some proof that we are married (she's my insurance beneficiary). We just got married this year too

You apply outland. It's a package that needs to be mailed to immigration in Canada.

You need to start by doing some basic researching here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse.asp

You'll need to work together to prepare the forms and complete the application. You need to wait until your have the marriage certificate to apply.

If she will be in Cuba for a short period of time, in my opinion, it's better for her to come back to Canada first , gather all the needed documentation and apply from here. My wife and I got married in the Philippines and after that I came back here and she to Dubai. We're still in the process of gathering docs. You might be spending some money in mailing the forms to Canada but the pressure in getting all the paperwork done while preparing for the wedding is not a good option.

Thank you some much. And she would have to mail our application package to where??

Thank you very much. So we don't have to go to Havana? I heard we had to register our marriage in Havana.
You need the marriage certificate to apply. Not sure how that works in Havana but you will need the certificate once you are married.

Did anyone here get success applying for TRV for your spouse while sponsorship application is in progress?
My friend has sponsored his wife, it has been 18+ months but no update. The processing time shows 12 months though.
GCMS notes shows no problem. Is there anything to do?

Thanks!

Yes, I provided only 2 transactions for the financial support because same as you my spouse also has work in the Philippines. For the insurance, we submitted insurance from the Philippines that indicated I am his beneficiary. We also got married January of this year.

Were you able to provide a document as a proof recognizing that he is your spouse as well or the insurance form indicating that you are the beneficiary was good?

The insurance was the only proof I sent. Since we do not have joint accounts, shared bills etc yet from the time we sent our Application.
