Hello everyone,
I need your thoughts on this matter asap,

I came to Canada with my valid visitor visa and still in Canada right now, but it will expiry on Tuesday.
My spouse lives in Canada, he's a permanent resident here.

I'm trying to figure out what should we do?
Should we apply inland or outland sponsorship? I'd much prefer outland. Although I don't want to be apart from my husband.

Can we apply outland while I'm in Canada? If we can, what am I supposed to do with my expiring tourist visa? Should I apply yo extend it before it expires.
Btw I'm still working online for the company back home, I've been working there almost 3.5 years now. So I've got some supporting documents for the extend visa option I think.

Waiting for your replies,
Thanks in advance!!

hey hi,

I have a question. Is it possible if my husband can come to Canada on tourist visa first and once he is in Canada, I can apply for his visa under inside sponsor visa category?
I have heard there are few difficulties to get tourist visa if the other spouse is PR of Canada and staying in Canada already? He is PR of Australia and working there at the moment. He is thinking of applying tourist visa but we are not sure if there is any difficulty to apply for his spouse visa lately.
Please suggest.

hi,

Just a quick question. We are married and not a common law relationship. Do we still need to provide these proofs on the checklist:

Code:
One (1) document from three (3) of the following sets of options:
• Joint ownership of residential property or joint residential leases or joint rental agreements listing both the sponsor and the principal applicant; (Minimum 1 document).
• Proof of joint utilities accounts (electricity, gas, telephone); (Minimum 1 document).
• Important documents for you and your sponsor showing the same address, such as copies of Government issued identification
documents: driver's licenses, insurance policies, etc.
• Important documents for you or your sponsor showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse (such as employment or
insurance benefits). (Minimum 1 document).
• Documentary evidence of financial support between your sponsor and yourself.
• Other proof that your relationship is recognized by your friends and/or family (e.g. Letters, social media information showing a
public relationship, etc.)

Hello All,

Just a quick question,
How long does it usually take to receive the police certificate from the FBI?
We applied in November 2016 and still haven't received anything...

This is for my husband (from the United States) who applied within the US before he came here.
We indicated to receive it to my address in Canada.

Should we re-apply?

Thank you!!

That seems about right, from what I've heard, if you're talking about getting it directly from the FBI. For what it's worth, he should have used a channeler. I got my results by e-mail less than five minutes after having my fingerprints scanned and sent off by Fieldprint.

On the form IMM 1344 (Application to sponsor) on page 2, in the sponsor eligibility section, question 4 asks...

"Do you reside in Canada, and no other country?
If you answered no, but are a canadian citizen living exclusively outside of canada, you may still be eligible to apply"

I am living in Russia on a work permit. I don't have residency status. I believe I should select "no" since I am living here full time. But I am not 100% certain that is the correct answer.

Hi, beautiful people of this forum. ;D ;D

Now that we have the 20-photo limit, what is your opinion about voluntarily sending in more pictures as additional proof of genuine relationship? I'd love to know your thoughts regarding this matter! Thank you! :)
I wouldn't send in more pictures than asked for. If they want more proof that the relationship is genuine, they'll ask for it. What you risk by providing more than asked for initially is that if, down the road, they would ask for more proof, you might have exhausted the options you had to provide it. I would choose the best 20 pictures, the ones that are most reflective of the relationship.

I personally wouldn't send anything extra without being asked after the application has been submitted. That's just my philosophy on it. If they want to know more, they'll ask.

If you want to stay you need to apply for an extension before yours expires. Get that in ASAP (you can extend it online). If you apply via inland, the work permit app will give you status, but not if your status is already expired. So, you need to maintain a valid status. If you don't want to risk an interview in your home country, apply inland.

Hi everyone

My husband is in Canada and he is a PR holder there. We legally registered our marriage on 2013. He submitted the application for sponsoring me on July 2015. The immigration office called for an interview on October 29, 2016. And we are advised that our application is accepted and asked to pay the Permanent Resident Fee and Redo the medical since my upfront medical has been expired. I received my MR on November 2016. My application status has been changed to DM on October itself. Still now, I didnt receive my PPR. Can anyone let me how long it will take?

Thank you

Thanks for your reply.
Hello Folks,

Our civil marriage is scheduled in Feb at Toronto, due to some reasons both sides parents cant attend this as they need to come from India. But every one aware of this and attended pre-wedding ceremony last year at India. Our parents wants to attend our religious marriage going to occur in September at India. Only some friends and relatives will be attending civil marriage here.

Let me know if this situation can be a problem for spousal application.

Thanks
