If you haven't even got SA yet, there is no reason to bother with GCMS notes. Unless you are really worried about the SA approval...

Only the sponsor can apply for them. They take about 30 days to get: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

Hi Everyone! We submitted an inland sponsorship (Spousal) and PR applications. We mailed it on 28 March 2016 and it was signed for at the CIC CPC Mississauga on 31st March, 2016. We submitted the spousal application with the open work permit application. Can anyone tell me how long it will take to get the first correspondence from CPC Mississauga?

Hi,

I want to sponsor my husband as I am a PR of Canada. We are almost ready with our application package. But our consultant is telling us that he has to get his medical done upfront. So we are getting confused whether we should defer it or do it right now. Please guide us.

Doing the medical upfront is a great idea. I hope you can forward this and the police clearance certificate together with your application. This i believe saves so much time.

Hi,

Did you send the medical also with your inland spousal application?

Are you sponsoring him inland or outland?
If outland you should do it right now if inland you can defer it

You should read this thread for explanations on your notes: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/gcms-notes-well-explained-has-never-before-until-now-t390292.0.html

Hello

A few questions please... :)

I am too sponsoring my wife.

Do we need a job before sponsoring?

Are all the documents sent together?... because in that case i will have to ask my wife to send over the documents to me in canada first and then i need to send them to cic.

How many photos shall i print for marriage? can we give a CD or not?

Read the first post in this thread for income verification. No, you do not need a job to sponsor your wife but you need proof of finances to support her for the 3years of undertaking.

Yes, all documents are sent together; both your application to sponsor and her application for PR.

with regards to photos concentrate on quality not quantity. some have sent over 200 photos and others about 20 and both been approved. The instructions do not allow an applicant to send in CD. send Paper copies of photos. see this thread for suggestions on photos: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/photo-proof-and-evidence-t406992.0.html

look for your region specific check list.. it would say if it's upfront or not .. do it upfront anyway. it saves you time. nowadays most of doctors have E medical; can send it directly without your application numbers. your other family members? no.. cuz my wife just needs to write down their additional family members names, birthday...the form didn't ask for police check; since they aren't coming.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to know about the Police Certificates and Clearances + Proof of Medical Examination part of the Sponsorship. My fiancé is from Serbia and I am looking at the country specific instructions.

Am I really suppose to obtain police clearances and medical exams for EACH member of his family (his sister, Mother, brother-in law, etc)?

I do not plan on sponsoring them ever and neither does my fiancé. I thought that the medical and police clearance would only be about the spouse or anyone else that is actually being included in the application...?

Any help would be amazing. I have been unsure about this part of the document checklist since I read it!
