Guidance? Don't commit fraud. You must be residing in Canada to sponsor your child.

Thanks for your reply. Seriously didn't mean to do any fraud. Was just desperate so wrote down what ever options that came to my mind.

I looked up the current time they are taking for child sponsorship applications and it says 16 months. Would it really take that long? My daughter is only 9 months old. For comparison, I got our(me and spouse) PR application completed in 8 months time. I couldn't find a thread that is specifically discussing child sponsorship applications, would really appreciate if you could give some idea on the actual time they are taking now in the case of infants.

Also any opinion on getting a TRV for her?

No, it won't take 16 months. There isn't really any security or background checks needed for a child. It will probably take around 8-10 months or less.

You can apply for a TRV. They are sometimes approved. If the TRV is refused, you can try for a TRV.

Thank you so much, i have been able to follow the thread. I can see she had to provide so much details for her to be granted the visa. How about a case where by the only strong ties are the kids back in the Home country who solely depend on mum who is planning to visit the husband sponsor as they all wait for the spousal sponsorship to go through? I have already been denied a TRV before marriage and applying for the PR under family sponsorship.

Please share tips on how we can approach this.

Hey Guys!

My husband recently received PP, Whereas a physical police verification has been done. So here are my questions:-

1. Do we need to apply for PCC, as police verification recently has been done?

2. We have mentioned Current and permanent addresses same in Generic form, but my husband works in Gurgaon and while giving them last 10 year detail we have mentioned Gurgaon address as well, So do we need to get PCC from Gurgaon as well?

Thanks in Advance!

I have a little question.. I was able to log into ecas with my UCI and there's info there - yay! :) Do you think it's a big deal that under my address they don't list my country (Germany)? And they left a letter of my boyfriend's middle name (Alexande instead of Alexander)? Do you think these little mistakes will get sorted out over time? I feel like they are too minor to contact CIC about already. ::) Thoughts? Thanks!

One last question pls....Do i have to notorize statutory declaration of common law union? thanks in advace for the answer

I am not very knowledgeable as regards that, coz am not in canada and i have no idea how that works.

But if u are living outside canada, get d declaration form, fill it ( but don't sign yet) go to a place where it can be notarized, both of u will have to sign right there, ( they may need some form of identification)

Get it notarized, and Viola, Job Done!!! ;D

you have save me alot today.. Many thanks.

Hi there!!
I am a Canadain citizen sponsoring my Brazilian husband. We have 2 children who are Canadain citizens as well. I have sent my application to Mississauga last December2015. I received a reply from them in February 2016 asking for more recent forms (apparently the ones I sent were out of date). All requested forms were sent back to them on February 10th. Honestly I am a bit anxious (to say the very least) because I feel like I have been waiting forever. On top of that there is still the second part of the process to be dealt with. Our main concern is with our children who should start a new school year in September and we are afraid that the process will not be finalised by then. Can I get in touch with the office to request a speedy process? Is there anything I can do besides wait?

They won't expedite the process. There's really nothing you can do but wait. Having said that, you and your children can certainly move to Canada before your husband's PR application is finalized if you want to ensure they are in school for September. Legally there's nothing stopping you from doing that.

Unfortunately the fact that you had to re-do some forms will likely result in a delay of a couple of months (for the sponsor approval portion). You're extremely lucky they requested updated forms rather than just sending the entire application back to you unprocessed.

17 months includes time for sponsorship approval. Hopefully you are nearing the end, we have the same timeline and I am still waiting as well.

Mrs Chino,
I see that you did a remedical.
I did not even receive a remedical yet.
