2015 Spreadsheet:

Hi ,

I'm new here, was going through the forum spreadsheet. Its' a nice thing, but can someone explain what is AOR & ECAS.

We are applying as Outland from AbuDhabi office. It says on cic that it takes 13 months, is there anyone who applied from Abu Dhabi office & got the visa before 13 months.

I tried to find out in the spreadsheet but couldn't get it. Sorry & thanks

AOR: Acknowledgement of Receipt. This is the letter you get from CIC that says that they have received your application.

ECAS is the online tool to check your status.

I think there is a separate thread for specific visa offices. Maybe you can check that out. However what I do know is that there are really expedited cases wherein visas were issued less than the average processing time.

The times on CIC actually mean that most people are processed FASTER than that time. 13 months means your VO is pretty fast. For instance, my VO said 17 months, but we got ours in 4. You can probably expect 6-9 months average. I don't know the numbers but perhaps someone will link the Abu Dhabi thread.

Hi,

There is a spreadsheet specifically for ADVO here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PblORrbClJ7xZ7enG5rFZZ7xqTz2N1ELLc2U4Cj7JY4/edit#gid=0j and at the top you can see how long it is taking for people to receive their visa. Of course, the data is only good if everyone adds their timeline and updates their timeline right to the end of the process.

There is also a thread specifically for those whose applications have been sent to ADVO - here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spouse-sponsorship-abu-dhabi-office-t95703.6090.html

If you need any help adding your timeline, let me know. It's also good to add yourself to the 2015 timeline as this has more data :)

from New Delhi office it is taking 17 months as present, but some cases are quickly processed and some are late. these are average processing time.

processing time is not linked with profession or work. spousal cases are processed as family class sponsorship.

Depends on your VO and country of citizenship. If your app takes over 6 months, they might request a re-med, or they might extend it.

PLEASE HELP - REMEDICAL REQUEST- IMM 1017

We renewed our Passport recently since it's expiring soon. The problem is, we got remedial request now too, but the IMM 1017 has the bar code number that is linked to the old passport number.

Do we have to contact CIC to get this changed? And I suppose we need to mail them a copy of our new passport and explain to them that we need the IMM 1017 updated??? or can this be done at the doctor's office? Who links this?

Perhaps I can't search well but does anyone have the link to the 2014 or 2013 Outland Spreadsheet?

Similar to the 2015 Outland Spreadsheet one.

Hi guys,

Can we call a spouse on study visa while her application is in process?

I am a PhD student in Canada and from this August I am taking leave of absence and doing an internship for four months which will end in December. I received my PR in June and got married back home (Sri Lanka) in this October.
I am in process of applying for my spouse sponsorship and planning to submit my documents by the first week of December. Also, I received an offer from a well reputed company in US for an internship starting from January to June (6 months). My present internship annual salary is Canadian $65k (though I will be working for four months) and US annual salary will be US$75k. I will be back to my University to finish my PhD studies ( 1 year left in my PhD resarch) and planning to settle down in Toronto. These are my questions:
1. When I leave Canada for six months do I have to inform CIC? What are the implications if I inform or not? Which is better?
2. I might get my wife to US in dependant visa. Will it cause any problems for the immigration to Canada?
Three months ago, I went to help one of uncle to help his issues. At the time, I have asked that lawyer about my situation and he said I have to apply from Canada and then go to US for the internship. He is a wellknown immigration lawyer ($300/ appointment) but I did not get much time to talk about my situation. I am not sure whether he knows that I am a PR only.

Please let me know your suggestions. I am bit worried as I want to take my spouse as soon as possible to Canada and the US offer is really important for our future. Thanks in-advance.
