Hello
I have a question and please if somebody can answer.
Yesterday a friend of mine had a interview in a VAC(because in our country we don't have a Canadian Embassy) and in the end of interview the officer said that he is satisfy with her answers but he didn't took her passport but he said that she will receive a passport request after a week by e-mail.
So my question is:Do you think that this is a normal procedure and everything is OK ore there are still the chance that she could be refused.
Thank you.

P.S:Tomorrow I have the interview too :( :(

That's good news, they aren't going to lie to her face and secretly intend to not send a PPR. He probably did this because she has to send the passport to the VO not the VAC.

Good luck with your interview! You went over the interview questions right?

Hello,

If I have bachelor degree do I also need to include my school diploma copy in application or just bachelor degree copy is enough?

Hi, I have a fairly simple question, but after searching couldnt come up with a reasonable answer:

My partner immigrated in 2013 (Conjugal) and now we feel ready to sponsor his 2 dependent kids from the Philippines. Must I do two separate applications, or can I add one onto the others?

Okay, so my husband's case has been transferred to the visa office in Abu Dhabi. He is currently residing in Riyadh and we have a 10 months old daughter. I have come to visit my husband since last 4 months in riyadh. I am a Canadian citizen. Now I just want to know if I stay out of Canada for more than a period of 6 months while the sponsorship is in process, will it affect his application in any way. I wanted to spend the winter here just to avoid canada;s harsh weather one last time. Also my husband's mum passed away recently and he is quite upset. Is there any one who applied while staying out of the country?

I am being a Debbie Downer but it appears the interviewer did not say the case was approved just that they were satisfied with her answers..I am sure its all good but when dealing with CIC you never know...

Don't take my word as gospel but I believe there's a period of time that constitutes a reasonable visit.

However , realistically, your application is already submitted so I wouldn't sweat it too much. Worse case scenario is that they would ask you to prove you intend to settle back in Canada once the visa is issued, and you would have to submit documents for proof. And realistically, they don't keep track of who leaves, only who enters. So it wouldn't be necessarily on their radar at the moment. Plenty of people sponsor from outside the country, the difference is they have to provide good proof they intend to settle in Canada after the visa is issued.

I have been living in the UAE for the past year with my husband on renewing tourist visas...with two return trips to Canada....I don't have status in the UAE other than tourist so we applied with me as residence in Canada. We also included a letter explaining this (I am a Canadian citizen). Residency has various definitions depending on which legislation you reference. I'm actually now in Rome working on a short term employment contract. Now that I have found a place to live I will update CIC with my new address...but I am still here on visit visa so I consider myself a resident of Canada still. Not sure if this helps.

You must submit completely separate apps with each child as the Principal Applicant. You cannot include one child as a dependent of the other.

As a Canadian citizen, you can remain outside of Canada throughout the process.

Re: Spousal sponsorship In process

Hi All,

I have read a lots and lots of posts here looking for a clue for my situation. My file was sent to Ottawa "In process" August 7th, 2015. I have applied for a position and it looks like I might get an offer before my PR is completed (since it said could be as long as 15 months from Aug 7th). Is it possible to get Temporary Work Permit while I wait for my PR "decision made"? If so what is the fastest way to complete this task? I really want to ensure that I don't miss this chance of getting Canadian employment. I am US Citizen, sponsored by my husband (Canadian).

I assume you applied outland? Then your employer would have to complete an LMIA on your behalf and submit it. But, being American, you might not have to wait much longer for your COPR.

Yes Outland. There isn't a Temporary Work Permit for PR in waiting? The only way is for the employer to do the LMIA, which cost money...COPR hopefully won't take 15 months but from looking at what happens from August to January things slow down. I am so close to being able to work and live in my family home ... I am hoping that the COPR will come soon but nothing has been updated since August 7th...no email, mail or anything. I realize that this is normal, but it doesn't feel normal.

Thanks for your assistance. MME

No - there is no temporary work permit for outland applications.

If your spouse / partner wants to be able to work before PR - they need to find an employer willing to go through the LMIA process.
