Yes that's a good point, sometimes people do not get an AOR for whatever reason (the officer forgets to send it) so it probably doesn't mean anything.

Thank you very very much Mr Kangamoose, your information was really helpful, I did exactly what you said and I saw my application has been received on July 3rd and processing started 2 days ago on Sept 9 2015, I didnot succeed on the receipt number though and have used Unique client Identification and hv entered the PR card of my wife. extra information for any one who doesnt succeed with the receipt number.

Thank you buddy,

Cheers

There's no real way to say, as every case is different and it depends on your case officer and your nationality. I see you are at London VO from 2013, Pakistani citizen? You will get a better idea by finding the relevant thread on here and checking their spreadsheet timelines.

Hi guys,

I applied for my wife's immigration from Dubai and received a letter on 20th August 2015 that they are ready to issue visa for my wife which will be valid until June 2016. But they require me to show that I, the sponsor, am willing to move there and provide resignation letter or proof of cancellation of visa. They require us to submit the my wife's passport within 2 months from the date of letter. My concern is that I eventually plan to move to Canada but not right away as she needs to live there 2 years out of 5 as mentioned in the letter to keep her residency from the time of landing. Is there a way I can mention them that so at least I can get my wife's visa and go to Canada to get her PR card for now and move there after some time?

Thank you.

Hello mzaid,
there's ADVO forum specific, some folks there might have an idea about your situation. Good luck. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spouse-sponsorship-abu-dhabi-office-t95703.5625.html

My educated guess says it won't be long now, it seems you've gone through the hard stuff now they are finishing up checking your information. No one can really say how much longer it will be.

3 things you can do. Get your wife (she's the sponsor, correct?) to order notes. It will take some time to get them so order ASAP, one option to get them online is www.caipsnotes.com. The second thing you can do is send in a case-specific inquiry to the London visa office, the online tool is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/london.asp. The third thing your sponsor can do is contact your MP. However I don't think that is necessary yet, as your case is moving, albeit slowly.

Hi Leon,
My wife is Canadian and we are living in Colombia at the moment, so we want to start the process outland. But she has a student loan that has not been paid or any payment plan set. So this would an issue when we send the application????

As scylla anwsered when you asked the exact same thing:

Quoted from your thread:
It depends. If the loan has been outstanding for a long time and she has to declare bankruptcy when she returns to Canada - then yes, this will impact her sponsorship. Otherwise no. If you plan to make Canada your home, she should make arrangements to start repaying the money she owes.

They will not issue the visa/COPR without proof you intend to return to Canada. That is a basic requiremnt of the application. If CIC determines you are not returning soon, they will refuse the app and tell you to reapply when you are ready to return to Canada.

Hello,

I have recently received my acceptance letter for my sponsorship application. I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is a citizen of India where she also resides. My concern is that we were expecting the permanent residence application to be sent to New Delhi India however they sent it to the London UK office. Does any one know why they would do that? Is this random or due to back log?

This is what they sent me:

"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in London for further processing.
This visa office was selected based on your relative’s home address and the requirements of the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act."

Thanks

Yes, it seems they send some of the backlog to London, they choose where it goes. If this is a big issue for some reason, you can try emailing them a case-specific enquiry with your explanation and ask for them to send it to New Delhi (at least one person on here claimed this worked for them ). But if they actually do it, then they'd have to send it there which would be more delays.

LOST MY PASSPORT before passport request.

My husband sponsored me from Canada in June, the file was sent to the New Delhi, India office for processing on August 31.
I lost my passport during shifting my stuff to my husband's house.
According to the process of re-issuing of passport, i have to file an FIR and then apply for a new passport.
If i receive the passport request i will have to send the new passport.
How do i inform CIC? And which office is to be informed?

Will this affect the processing application in any way?

Hi, I would truly appreciate an advice!

I came to Canada as a PR (me being sponsored by my father) in 2010, reconnected with old boyfriend at the beginning of 2012, left Canada in 2013 to be with him. Since then we have lived together, getting married next year.

I am a permanent resident and I would like to sponsor him.

The problem is, of course, being separated for 12-24 or however long it takes to process the sponsorship. Is there any way he could visit as a tourist ( I can't because I would lose my pr status, long story)? I don't think they would allow him to come if they knew we are in the process of sponsorship and being dishonest seems like a really bad idea.

Any advice?
