i've only gotten passport request, i haven't gotten my copr yet, so i'm still in process. there's no knowing for sure how long i have to wait for decision made. current us applicants are landing in 5 months, so it seems to be speeding up for all in ottawa!

one of my friends she got her spouse here in Toronto within 6 months with no interview... and one of friends friends was called for an interview and the interview was for 2 hours and got rejected:( so that's why its a bit scary

Inland application.

My work permit expires in September and I am applying to extend my stay in Canada as a visitor. That is I am changing my status from "work permit" (worker) to "visitor record"(visitor). So that we can buy more time to get ready for our spousal permanent residence application.

I have a question about the Form IMM 5708 E:
On the first page, "I am applying for one or more of the followings":1. Extension of my temporary status. 2. Restoration of my temporary status as a visitor. 3. Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit.

Clearly I am not 2. But how about 1 and 3? Which one do I belong to?
Different consultants say different things...So confused...
Please help. Thanks!

Hi there :)
I hope somebody can help me here. This is a great forum, by the way :)
Some background: Currently, I am a student in Canada and have lived with my common-law partner (Canadian citizen) for over a year. I would like to apply for PR under his sponsorship. I have a questions now:
Is there a way I can apply through my home country (Germany) although I don't officially live there anymore? Or do I have to apply from inside Canada and deal with 11 months processing time? I also don't want to lose my permission to study or to work (under the study visa) if applying from Germany. In other words: Can I apply from "outside Canada" while living in Canada without any disadvantages? I know that sounds to good and probably everyone would do it that way if it is possible. But a friend told me that it could work...

Help is appreciated :)
Thanks!
Caroline

You may be asking in the wrong section of the forum. This is for family class sponsorship by someone who is already a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident. Your post indicated that your spouse is neither, as she has an OWP.

Thanks all, i really appreciate. Probably a little too much for one occasion. They want to see length as well. If there are pics of the both of you meeting friends/families over a duration of time, include them, then you would only need a few wedding/engagement ones to show they are in those as well. What exactly do you want to prove to them by sending 150 pics of your wedding/reception/engagement? Persons have mentioned on this forum they have staged a massive fake wedding. Just giving you my 2cents.

Hi there,
I am filling the forms for spousal sponsorship. Since I have applied for parents sponsorship in 2010 and CIC hasn't begun to process the application, there are some questions that i feel hard to answer.
1. Box 6 under Sponsor Eligibility Assessment in 1344E stating:" Have you submitted a previous application in respect of which a final decision has not been made for the person being sponsored and their family members? If I choose yes, I may not be eligible to be a sponsor. What shall I do?
2. Question 5B(ii) in Sponsorship Evaluation IMM 5481: number of person included in previous undertakings you signed as a sponsor and that are not yet in effect(persons who have not yet become permanent residents). Shall I fill 2? For Question 5A, I filled 1.
3. Question 16 in Sponsor Questionaire IMM 5540: Have you ever submitted a sponsorship application for another person before? Shall I choose yes or no?
These questions are driving me crazy. Your advice is highly appreciated.
Thanks again.

Hi all,
My English boyfriend is awaiting passport request from the Sydney office, we are in Australia now but our working holiday is up Sept 20th, so will have to leave. That's only 8 weeks away so if we get PR here, we are going to put a different address to receive his COPR, my question is: is it okay for us to use a Canadian address and can he come into Canada to wait for his COPR? Just wondering if this causes any conflicts or raises red flags.

Thanks for any help

Re: Inland or outland

Hello!!!

I don't know what to do, I have been in Canada since June 2011, I met my boyfriend( Canadian) in Feb 2012 and we are together since then, in June 2013 we moved in together, all this time I'm extending my visa, as a student and work permit. My last job was going to sponsor me, and we started the LMO process, my visa expired on March 31 2014, but before that we sent an application asking for extension because we are going to apply for the LMO, but it was refused, since the immigration put on hold the program. So my boyfriend and I decided to apply for Common law, since now we have completed 1 year living together, I have to apply for a Restoration visa, and then to the common law process, but I don't know if I do inland ou outland, because if my Restoration status is refused i can't stay and I don't wanna be far from my boyfriend, and I don't understand why I can apply outland if I'm living in Canada, The required documents are differents, what should I do? please help me.

Guys please help me with form IMM 5669

there is confusion between its question 6 d and e section..

IN d part it is written-been refused immigrant, refugee, nominee or visitor or temporary resident visa to canada or any other country?

In E Part its written been refused admission to,or ordered to,leave canada or any other country?

I was refused Canada Tourist Visa in 2007

I AM CONFUSED Which SECTION TO TICK NO AND WHICH TO YES??

You can update your address online with ECAS and yes you can use a Canadian address, someone will need to sign for your copr when it arrives

He can come into Canada to wait for his copr, maybe bring some evidence of your application for the boarder officer to see.
When he gets his copr he will need to 'activate' it by leaving the country and coming back in to land.

If you applied for a Canada Tourist Visa (or any other type of visa) and it was refused before you even tried to get into the country, D would be yes
If you tried to get into Canada and were refused entry at the border or were in Canada and told you had to leave, E would be yes

My Husband has got a work permit visa and has started to do his
fellowship from Ottawa University from this month . I would like to
join him with my children(minors) this year (by end of Dec) . I would
like know whether i can apply for a dependent visa , if not which
other criteria is applicable for me? Where can i apply for the visa
online? I also plan to do my higher studies in Canada , if so can I
change my dependent visa to students visa once i reach Canada?

Hi ,

I have 3 questions :
-How to send the application material ? There are so many documents , do we need to send it in a box? I doubt the documents can fit into an envelope.
-Is it fine to just send regular print out of the photos or should we send the hard copy photo prints?
-What is the expiry of Police Clearance Certificate ? I got it in 1st week of July and we are mailing application in Aug 2nd week
