This is one of the sites I located. http://www.weddings-abroad-guide.com/legal-requirements-for-getting-married-in-france.html

Its fine if they scrutinize the sponsorship because we are not doing it just to get away from srilanka. But would they reject the sponsorship just because he was rejected from another country??

Just today got a letter from Canada post which came on my wives name since I used my own address as her current mailing address. Since I wasn't at home so they left a note and will pick it up tomorrow. She lives in Bangladesh so I used my address so that if they contact the letter doesn't get lost. Just wondering what might the immigration sent, any idea? I just hope they didn't return my package or anything like that.

Application Current status is this:
1.We received your application for permanent residence on September 18, 2013.
2.We started processing your application on February 11, 2014.
3.Medical results have been received.

Thanks.

Ok that was the PP request. They also returned all the Photos, wedding/reception cards and instructions how to send the PP.
My Timeline so far:
  • Application sent on Sept-16,2013
  • Received application on Sept18, 2013
  • Application In process on Feb-11, 2014
  • PP Request - Mar-06, 2014

hello, I already submitted my application last august 2013 under spousal common-law. i'm still on work permit, apparently, my current work permit will expired this month, can somebody help me with my situation? should i stay with my current employer while i'm waiting for my open work permit. I called to cic, and they told me that i'm on implied status even my work permit is expired. they told that i still continue to work while waiting for the decision from cic. but I am Confuse.. if I still allowed to stay or I still need a status while waiting for the decision.

Hi all!
Could smb from seniors clarify the case below.
I'm PR and preparing to submit for sponsorship. Looking at the sponsor forms got confused with the question N4 in IMM 1344 Sponsor Eligibility Assessment:' Do you reside in Canada and in no other country?'. Can I tic 'Yes' given that I haven't been living in Canada since my 3-week landing purposed visit 2 years ago? I've got married recently in my country and going to relocate to Canada in 3 weeks, then find the job there and submit the sponsorship.
Thanks in advance.

Great summary! Thank you for taking the time and effort writing it!

I am looking for some guidance, and appreciate any help...

Here are my questions:

1. Should I marry my Chinese girlfriend in China or Canada before sponsoring her to move to Canada?

2. I'm concerned that getting married after being in a relationship for less than a year, the Canadian government may think our relationship is a scam, what information can we provide on her immigration application form to show our relationship is valid beyond simply answering the questions?

3. Once we get married and submit her immigration application, can she get a visa to live with me in Canada while we wait for her immigration application to be processed approval? What visa should she apply for while we wait?

I'm a Canadian citizen. Born, raised and living in Canada. She is a Chinese citizen. Born, raised and living in China.
We met online in October 2013 and have visited each other, first I went to China in December then she came to Canada to visit me in February. I am visiting her again in April 2014. We both have grown kids, her son is on his own and would not be coming with her. Also we are both financially secure.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,
I am looking for an estimate of processing time for spouse sponsorship (both spouses located in Canada). I know that the CIC recently updated the processing time to 16 months but I am looking for some real-world examples. Can anyone help me?

Hi Everybody,

I am prepareing my appilication documents for family class sponsorship (My wife being a sponsor for me).
In form "Country Specific Instructions-3911-Middle East-Turkey", asking about military service informations. I havent been completed my military service and it postphoned to 2016 because of my graduate study. For this reason, is that a possible problem for to get resident permit? Are there anybody else have the same conditions like me? Do you know anyhing about policies?

Thanks in advance

Canada doesn't care if you have not done your military service in a foreign country. This question relates to whether or not you have been in the military of a foreign country, that's all.

Just looking for moral support here? I sent my spouse's PR application and my sponsorship application to Ontario May30,2013. Since then I (sponsor), receives approval as sponsor July 4, 2013 by email letter that also stated that my spouse's application was forwarded to Manila. When I check on line it says her "application received May 30, 2013" and "medical received". My concern is that we haven't heard anything back in 8 months. Not sure if "application received" refers to when it arrived in Ontario or Manila? My spouse has not received any information at all. Should I panic? Seems to me that others are being asked for their passports and saying that their online status shows "in process" any comments appreciated?

You might want to consider ordering your GCMS notes, to find out what state things are actually at. Details on how to do this are all over the forum..

Hello, I'm at almost 7 months. Not a single word from Manila.
From reading other threads, many receive no updates on E-CAS from Manila.
I suspect you will be receiving a PPR very soon, CEM just recently started requesting PPR's for May and June apps. After about a 3 month time that no PPR's were sent out.
As Zardoz said order your GCMS notes, I will order mine at 8 or 9 months.
Processing time for Manila is listed at 14 months from the time they receive app in Manila.

Are you sure that CIC will accept a channeller. I seem to remember that they won't..
