I really need HELP from all of you answering my question on this emergency condition..

So, i just received the renewal of Police Certificate from my country,, by accident, the paper get ripped of on the corner... Will the CIC still accept my Police Certificate... Oh my... I'm so sad right now.. :'( :'(

Like 2 cm on up right corner.. Yes i can.. Will they still accept it although i tape the ripped part?

I can't see why they shouldn't. As long as the rip doesn't interfere with the information on the document. Just add a letter apologizing for the rip.

Just the 2 last numbers of the document.. It didn't interfere any info regarding my information.. Ohh I will make an apologize letter from them

Can you tell me if I will have to worry about this strike all that much and is it wise to try and contact the embassy. It would be really appreciated if I could get some knowledge from you. The IOs' union isn't the one on strike. It is another employee union at the Visa Offices.

i have my PR, i have recently got married. i was going through the application forms for Spouse visa applying outside canada...
they have got two forms:

1) sponnsorship forms which has to be completed by sponsor

2) immigration form and which i believe my wife ha to fill it ?????.


also have some questions regarding filling my form..

i got married in june now before i fly i have to make sure i fill the immigration form and get all the signatures on the form. it was an arrange marriage and also have lot many other questions regarding marriage and before marriage..... do we need to answer every question as in our case we dont date before marriage also we didnt had any relation before.... and the questions are like how did your relationship developed and all..... so i am bit worried about filling this application form .......... i dont want anything to go wrong.

CIC understands that arranged marriages are common in some cultures, so this should not be a problem. I believe there is a section in the paperwork where you will have to explain exactly how and when your marriage was arranged. As long as this is a normal and common practice in your culture, it should be fine.

As far as who fills out what, there are different forms for each of you. You fill out the Application to Sponsor and Sponsorship Questionnaire and you spouse fills out the immigration ones (ie. Generic Application, etc.). Anything that is for the "applicant" is filled out by your wife.

All stage 2 applications in Canadian Embassies abroad will be affected. The already long processing times will just get longer especially for family class applications. If the government does not order the PAFSO members back to work through a piece of legislation then the strike will continue until the government managing body of FSW's (The Treasury Board) and the union representing the FSW's (PAFSO) reach an agreement on a new collective bargaining contract. Currently the Canadian parliament is not in session as they break for the summer months. The Prime Minister would have to call an emergency session to reconvene Parliament in order to table a back to work order.

Foreign Service Workers are also called Visa officers, diplomats and Immigration Officers though really an Immigration Officer in Canada is also known as a Border Guard or CBSA Agent and is employed through the CBSA (Canadian Border Service Agency). CBSA do not make determinations of your visa application. They only assess that foreign nationals have all the appropriate documentation and legal reasons to enter and remain in Canada.

There are still visas being issued even though the job action remains in affect. My own belief is that their focus would be to finish applications submitted prior to the job action and let the new applications pile up. They have also transferred some help from family class processing to economic class applications so you can see just where the priority lies for this government. Money first. People last.

If people want this strike to end I would strongly suggest putting your support behind the PAFSO members. They are only asking to be treated fairly and fairness is the cornerstone to Canada's national identity.

Is PMM an official authority on all immigration matters? I am just curious because it does seem like PR applications are being impacted even if it is indirectly. PMM's post doesn't seem really relevant to me because PR applications are slowing down in terms of processing.
