Re: international money order or bank note

What do they mean when they say the name and financial istitution?
"clearly indicate name, street address and account number of the financial institution in Canada where it may be cashed.
Note: Do not provide a post office box as anaddress"
I was at the bank and they also had no idea.

also says "◦Certified cheques, bank drafts and money orders issued by a bank located outside of Canada must clearly indicate the complete address and account number of the corresponding bank in Canada which will cash the instrument."
In general, a CAD bank draft would be drawn against a Canadian Bank. They just want to know which Canadian Bank will negotiate it.

Did your husband give you any indication of how he felt the interview went? Sometimes the interviewed spouse can get a vibe, but we never really know with certainty what the vo is thinking until we are told directly. However, if a decision is made and they're sending a letter regarding this decision and you didn't pay the final landing fee yet, that doesn't seem good. Hopefully they do things a little backwards there and in the letter regarding the decision they'll tell him to pay the landing fee and submit his passport. Good luck to you both! I hope it's the outcome we're all hoping to get!

He thought the interview went well. he told me the questions she asked and he answered them all and what he did answered seemed really good . the security outside the door even said to him you answered so nice .i am sick thinking about it . but would they not have to send letter to me advising me to send the rest of the money? WE love each other so much it hurts so bad to be apart and feel helpless

Is it normal to not be able to access e-cas for a few days after getting the AOR?

I type in my (the sponsor's) information and just get "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:"

I tried with my husband's info as well and got the same message. I think I remember reading that it's pretty normal for it to take a few days before you can access that info, but I can't remember for sure.

Yes. It seems to take 3-7 days before it shows up in E-cas.

Good morning! I've been a lurker on this forum for a while now.... but it's finally come time to ask a question.

None of my family attended my wedding. I prepared a statement for Immigration. If anyone has a few minutes to read it, thumbs up/down or feedback? I'm a US citizen married to a Canadian citizen if that helps. Thanks :)

As noted in the official forms, I didn’t invite any family members to my wedding. I would like to make a statement regarding my relationship with my family.
My mother and I have no current relationship. She behaved erratically during my childhood and we never forged a good bond. I believe she has a mental illness, but she refuses to acknowledge she has any problems or seek any treatment. In 2005, I reached the end of my fuse in dealing with her and cut all contact. We haven’t spoken or exchanged any communications since.
My father I will communicate with occasionally, mostly by email. When I moved to X with my ex-husband, my father never visited and called me approximately 6 times in the 9 years I lived there. Dad is a functioning alcoholic and when he’s drinking, he’s insulting and demeaning. I dealt with that for 20 years growing up and have no desire to continue subjecting myself to that type of treatment.
My brothers and I lost contact when I moved to X. I was only able to visit them twice in the 9 years I lived there. They never visited me. I’m the oldest, so they grew up without me. (And I think they resent me for moving away.) I’m positive we love each other as family, but we aren’t close.
It’s been 10 or more years since I’ve seen any member of my extended family. None of them have bothered to call me in any of that time. I even tried to contact one of my aunts before my first wedding and was blown off.
None of my family was invited to my first wedding by my choice.
Given the lack of relationship with my family, I decided not to try to invite any of them to my second wedding. They probably wouldn’t have been able to make the wedding, as it was planned in 3 weeks. My middle brother was in Australia and my father and youngest brother don’t have passports. Regardless, I wasn’t interested in inviting them. They are my family and I care about them, but I don’t plan to ever visit them. Unless they visit me or there is a very compelling reason (and I can’t think of anything), I don’t think I will ever see them in person ever again

I would personally keep it much shorter than that. I don't think this level of explanation is required and some of what you've written sounds too emotional/petty for me (sorry - just being blunt). I would say something along the lines of:

My family was not invited to my wedding by choice. It has been over 10 years since I've seen any members of my family in person. I have been estranged from my mother since 2005 and we are no longer in touch. While I do keep in contact with my father by email, he is battling alcoholism and for this reason I do not see him socially. I am no longer in contact with my brothers.

I agree that it should be kept shorter - scylla's version is good.

Inland only. If she's in Canada when the sponsorship application is filed, she automatically gets the opportunity to stay until a decision is made. That's why (I believe) it's called "implied status" because it implies/assumes that the applicant will be given permanent residency after the application is processed.

The implied status tends to be much more valuable for people who are in Canada from countries that require visas. But since Canada doesn't require Greek visitors to get a visa, it allows her to come into Canada anytime. However, if she was from somewhere like Russia and she received implied status, it would be a huge relief because she wouldn't always have to go through the ordeal of applying for a visa, having to prove she will return to her home country, having to prove she has enough money to support herself during her visit, running around getting all the necessary paperwork, paying the various fees, and hoping it gets approved.

Glad I could be of some help.
Most applications are scrutinized for fake marriages. You obviously have more than enough evidence in that regard, and it's not like you suddenly went to Greece last month, met a girl in a bar, and she convinced you to get married just so she can come to Canada. You've been living there a long time, you've been married a handful of years, you already have a child with her, and you didn't even try sponsoring her until years after your marriage. So assuming that she and her daughter are healthy, there's no reason to think that anything would stand in your way.
Hi again, tuyen. Thanks so much for explaining all this to me and what affects peoples' decisions on how to get PR. I told my wife what you said and she says that maybe it's best we go with the inland option, even though Greece is visa-exempt because she'll be definitely coming with our daughters next July. So, she said that since she'll be eligible to work (of course having already submitted an application for the open work permit) and have OHIP after being AIP, that means her and her daughter will have those benefits around February '14 (6 months for me to be approved as sponsor). If we use the outland option, we'll submit our application around January, and with Rome possibly taking 12-14 months to approve her, she and her daughter may not get their PR before March-May 14. As you said, we can't know which way may be faster, it's kind of a luck of the draw, but using current time estimates is all we can do to make our predictions. The added benefit to going the inland route is that for some reason, the outland may get delayed even past May '14:
1) Bahrain where she lived and worked for 6 years in the past has still not given her a Police Certificate after four months, their bureaucratic process is already delaying us and we may not get that certificate for a few more,
2) There is also the risk of Immigration itself getting delayed in giving her PR because of Bahrain. It's a country in turmoil and may cause us and Immigration Canada delays, and,
3) Perhaps Immigration may want to make an appointment with my wife before giving PR, regardless if it's inland or outland, even for simple clarifications or a more rigorous background check due to her living in an Arab country in the past and having a daughter there.

In short, if such delays occur, with the inland application we "won't care" if we get delayed because we'll already have AIP with its benefits in the meantime. Let me know if my wife and I aren't reading this properly or misunderstand something.

If I may make another question, you mentioned that by going the inland route, she automatically gets the opportunity to stay until a decision is made. Does that mean that she won't need to apply for an extension to stay in Canada after 6 months? Won't she still be regarded as a tourist until she gets AIP? I'm asking because if she can only stay as a tourist for 6 months total, and it takes us 1 month to have her medical exams etc and submit inland, plus 6 months CI needs to subsequently approve me, she'll be here for 7-8 months until getting AIP.

Thanks for your time and interest for my situation. Indeed, I lived in Greece for 12 years before I got married and will be sponsoring my wife after 4 years of marriage in Greece, and after having a baby girl together who I've already applied to obtain Canadian citizenship, as is her right. So it should be an open and shut case but I'm worried about even a 0.1% possibility of getting rejected, so your thoughts and confidence do lift my spirits, thanks :)

Hi guys,

I immigrated as FSW and landed on 26th September, 2012 as permanent resident. Now I want to sponsor my wife and two kids under Family Class from India. They were shown as non-accompanying family members in my application. During the processing of my application they were also asked to undergo medical examination which was got done by all four of us on 12th July, 2012 and PCC for wife was also submitted. Now my question for which I am looking for anwers is :-

1. Do they again need to get medical examination done to be sponsored.

2. Which of these forms are to filled by me (sponsor) or by my wife (principal applicant)

- Generic Application Form (IMM0008)
- Sponsorship Agreement (IMM1344E)
- Additional Family Information (IMM5406E)
- Sponsorship Evaluation (IMM5481E)
- Sponsored Spouse Questionaire (IMM5490E)
- Sponsor Questionaire (IMM5540E)
- Background Declaration (IMM5669E)

Humble request to all the senior members to answer my queries...

Thanx in advance.
