Of course. The spouse may come temporarily (e.g., work visa or student visa) or permanently (e.g,. skilled worker). In fact, if the Canadian has a company in Canada, the non-Canadian spouse could be sponsored for a work permit (e.g., obtain an LMO and extend an offer of employment.) It must be a legitimate offer, of course, but it is an option.
thank you a lot..God bless....

Hi All,

My Spousal application got rejeceted. I want a bit of advise.
We are planning to appeal. In the rejection letter they didnt mention any reason. They just mention that the marriage is not genuine.

But thts totally rubbish. We had a genuine marriage.

I want to know isi it so once we appeal and if at all it gets rejected we can not re-apply again?

Also please let me know can we show additional proof in the appeal which were not declared at the time of initial appllication.

Thanks in advance....

If you had an outland application, you may appeal to the IAD. Start here: http://www.irb-cisr.gc.ca/eng/brdcom/references/legjur/Pages/SpoPar.aspx

If you had an inland application, your only option is to file an application for judicial review (outland applicant have this choice as well, but generally it's only advisable if there is an error in law or procedure). The rules for JR are here: http://cas-ncr-nter03.cas-satj.gc.ca/fct-cf/pdf/Consolidated_ImmRules.pdf and you may find the forms necessary to initiate a leave for JR application on the federal court's website (there is a $50 fee). Generally, you would file the application indicating that the "reasons for decision have not been received", at which point the court will issue a Rule 9 letter to CIC demanding they submit a copy of the reasons for the refusal.

Note that in either case there are strict deadlines that must be obeyed or you lose the right to challenge the decision.

You have the right to use an attorney. It's actually advisable in either situation.

Also, you may order a copy of your GCMS notes: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/index.asp. These notes are basically what gets returned by CIC in response to a Rule 9 letter anyway, but sometimes there is additional information.

I hope this helps.

I would like to ask u a question;
I just did my medical exam today, they did a mistake in my code postal.Instead of putting J8.......,they putted G8.......Do u think that we will be a big problem or it doesn't really matter?.I didn't realized until I got home,I saw that they made that mistake.

Please let me know what do you think about that, thank you

What classifies as "being a student" is it any courses over 6 months? or would intro computer class be okay at a local continuing education program?

Don't want my hubby to be bored or his brain cells to cease working!

Hi guys, i tried to update my address but its not updating to my new address. What should i do? Send them a letter ? My husband's passport is in ND since 2 months.

Thanks!

It takes sometime, few months for the address change to get effective in ecas. I did change mine sometime in September with no luck till date. The New Delhi 2012 thread applicants also have seen it not changed for few days to months. You may want to look the New delhi threads, its quiet helpful. Good luck!!

On our ecas it is doesnt says medical received. Should i worry about that already? Haha just got approved last oct29... Thank you

People make mistakes with postal codes all the time. Errors on addressed mail get manually sorted by the Post Office and will be delivered to the address though it may be delayed by a day.

My husband's sister accidentally wrote our postal code COMPLETELY wrong one day... along the lines of letter number number, number number letter bad and has sent us a couple of things with that as the postal code. It has made it to us fine.

As the post above me says, one letter difference in the postal code isn't anything to worry about.

It shouldn't matter, but you can report it to the Panel Physician (formerly known as "Designated Medical Profesisonal") so they can correct it in their records.

The medicals would be matched to you using your UCI and/or your name + DOB. Your address isn't used to match you.

Please ask your question ONE time in ONE thread.
If you scatter the same question across 48 different threads, it's going to annoy people.

As far as your relationship, if CIC found that it's not genuine, it's because they had reasons to be suspicious, or because you didn't provide anywhere close to enough information.

You can't submit additional evidence once the application has been processed.
If you had additional proof, why on earth didn't you send it with the original application? What were you waiting for - a special invitation? ::)
