Please i need help,If I am in Canada,and my son which is a minor is in Romania,which forms my husband has to download for the sponsorship application? And if you have any idea .....for my son ,I have to send him the medical papers from here? or the immigration is ok with the ones that I will receive from Romania??? Thank you so much.Simona

Hi Simona,

I don't know to answer of your question really, but I hope you declared your son in your application for permanent residence.
If it so I think you can sponsor your child if is below 22 years old, if you are already PR.
As for medical papers, doctors will give him the medical form wich will be compleated by doctores.

i did my re-medicals on 23 july but ecas has still not been updated....from wht i gathered it takes around 20-25 days to be updated.........or does it take longer?? should i be concerned??

I got a call from CEM today for re-medical too. I will wait for the letter of request from them. Do you have any idea how long it will take for us to get a visa after the re-medical? Thanks!

My wife has sposored me under the Family class. My status says Medical recieved. Now according to that table if it says medical recieved it means decision made/being made. My question is how long do you think I have to wait? What happens after this?

Medical received and decision made are two different steps. So just because it says medical received doesn't mean that a decision has been made or that a decision will be made soon. It's difficult to guess how much longer it might take since you've provided so little information. Did you apply inland or outland? When did you submit your application? Which visa office?

when I checked my status in cic website after I enter the UCI number n the other information a check box appear as follow :
"Please remove the ability for me or anyone else to view the status of my application and address information on this Web site."

If i click, i will not be able to access online update, if I don't, I can't see anything...

do not click that box... just leave it blank.. if you do, you will not be able to view the status of your application any more.

My AOR (medical inquiry) is Oct 26, 2011. Does this mean I may get a PPR by end of October 2012. I am marrying in Dec this year, and would like to include my spouse to my application. If I get PR, I cannot do so. Is there a way I can delay the PR (yea sounds idiotic)? cuz sponsoring spouse after PR is a much lengthy process (about 2.5 years) from my home country.

I was wondering if I could get my wife on TRV here, and once here can I apply for her work permit based on my post grad work permit, so that she could stay with me while her app is in process. If her TRV expires and her PR is in process does she have to leave Canada?

Any thoughts concerning this would be helpful. thanks.

I am from India and I am an MBA student at SMU halifax. I arrived 2 weeks ago , I got the study permit and for financial reasons didnot apply for a TRV for my spouse with me, but now I would like to bring her to Canada . But the consultant says that to receive a temporary resident Visa, I need to show my name in a lease agreement at halifax as proof that I would be able to accommodate her . Plus there seems to be a requirement to demonstrate her ties with the home country(India), I need to know how successful a TRV would be if she's applying as a self sponsored visitor from India and If there are any other better ways to get a successful Visa ?Please advise, I would be very thankful.

The processing time that CIC publishes: Stage 1 (approval of you as sponsor) is 11 months. Stage 2 (approval of the applicant) is 8 months for 80% of applications. Thus, 19 months (for 80%). Some applications take longer. Others are faster. But MOST are done in 19 months.

And, if by any chance I get PPR by Oct. 2012, can I still delay it by not sending the passport for let say 3 months, and then including my spouse in my file.

They may put a limit on when you can send your passport. So if they say 60 days, you need to get it to them by the 60 day mark. However, the COPR must be valid for at least 2 months (it's the one exception to "we will not extend your PR visa" according to the CIC manuals) from the date you receive it. If your circumstances change BEFORE you land, then you are obligated to advise the visa office, in which case they will need to reopen your file and examine the new information. This likely means you will need to repeat your own medicals, as they are only valid for 12 months.

If she can find an employer willing to obtain an LMO she can work in Canada. Once the first stage is approved ("Approval in Principal") she may apply for an open work permit. This is ONLY the case for inland applications. Outland applications do not qualify for an open work permit - they must wait until PR is approved.
