Hello Sir

I want to discuss some thing about you people during our process in our immigration.
We faced one problem they asked 6 month bank statement. we dont have but in alternate we have

1)For one year Fixed deposit amount already we have according to Canadian requirement funds.
2)In our provincial dealing we had account an old account and we gave 6 month statement when Provincial Govt ask . But after some time that bank convert to another bank and they were not giving good profit i mean less percent profit they were giving so we change our account to another bank and transfer required fund for immigration to another bank on fed 2012. and we fixed for one year. now London officer is asking 6 month statement. But in statement the required amount cannot be shown because it is fixed and in under use of the bank but when we want that money bank will give us easily. So we are sending a Mentained Fund letter on the name of immigration officer by bank manager. He is ready to give prove that we are not fake we have amount that is enough to the requirement of immigration.
So tell me it is the alternate solution of 6 month statement ??

Hi everyone! i'm new here in the forum, i will send my papers very soon, we have almost all done but now we have a question, my language is not english or french so i translated all my papers, but my family doesn't speak any of both language so my support letters from my family are in spanish, and we translate all to french (we are in quebec), we can do that or these traslations need to be made for a qualify traslator (like my papers) (we are sending both, in spanish and one translation made for ourself) is tooo expensive to pay for all of them and we don't have that money, is just my husband who work and is not so easy to get extra money... also we are sending an open work permit to be opened when is approved the first stage, i need to put in the same envelope than the sponsorship application? the receipt could be just one for both? or one each? we are also sending my extension and we will put in another envelope with another receipt with the extension fees.. is that correct?
I will appreciate for all you help!! thanks in advance!!
We are apply inland* :)

Hey everyone

My Canadian partner currently receives a reduction for his BC Med payments, is this classed as welfare? I'm pretty sure it would be but I just wanted to double check before he contacts them to request that they start charging him the full amount.

Also, as soon as we become common law (July), do we need to inform the CRA that we are common law, or is this only done the next time we file our taxes? (Part 4 d of IMM5409: declare common law union under the Canadian Income Tax Act, T1 General Individual Income Tax Return).

Lastly, I just want to double check a couple of things: that we do not have to get the Option C form (We're going down the Common law sponsorship route), and that Section 19 of the checklist does not apply to us.

I think that's it for now, many thanks in advance :)

Hi everyone, I've sent my inland spouse sponsorship application last year. CIC has received it on Nov, 2011. Then, my application status hasn't been changed for more than 6 month. It's really get me anxious. I've called CIC last month, the representative cannot confirm whether my add background check form received or not. His reply was "Everything should be fine, we will let you know if more documents requires...".
So, I would like to ask if status "Application Received" consider as "IN PROCESS" (according to https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/redir.do?redir=app_perm_com&lang=en&app=ecas). I haven't receive any acknowledgement letter yet.

Anyone else is in similar situation (Application received status for more than 6 months)?

Thanks again in advance for answering my question.

No, that will be fine. He doesn't have to be with you during the application processing time as long as you are applying outland and not inland, which I assume you're doing because you'll be returning to NZ within 2 months time. Just make sure when u return to NZ that u update your address as sponsor.
Thank you!! :)
That is a huge relief!

You need to settle in for a long wait. First stage is 11 months. CIC call centres cannot do anything until after 11 months.

I understand that it takes 11 months during first stage. However, I found my status haven't been changed for more than 6 months is not normal. What I means is I expect at least the status will change to "Application in process", "Additional application form received", etc.

Currently, my only status is "Application received on Nov, 2011". Nothing has been changed since then. Anyone is/has been in similar situation? or is this normal?

Also, can someone explain the abbreviation:
AOR =>
AIR =>

Thank you

VERY IMPORTANT question...please help! :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: I want to contact my MP in Canada about my husband's application. I got my passport request on May 10th and on June 18th, it will be a month since my passport and other documents were received at New Delhi visa office. I want to contact MP soon, it that ok? I have heard that it can delay the processing and when they find your application to give your status to the MP, the application is taken out of line and put at the end? Is that true or not? or will it actually help for MP to contact and remind them to start working on my application? I am also outside of Canada in India now and is it ok to send a signed and scanned copy of my consent form for inquiry into my case my email to my MP? :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:
i mean my passport and other documents were received in ND office on May 18th and i am thinking about contacting my MP around June 18th, which is soon. my question is that is it ok to contact my MP one month later, since I have not heard anything about the status except application received?
thanks and good luck to everyone! :)

Hi Woffle,

Why is she reduced for BC Meds is it because the employer pays? If the reduction is because her employer pays then this is still considered to be a taxable benefit..and is not considered welfare. There is a form on the CRA website that needs to be filled out for change of status from single to common-law or married. It could help you in your case.

MSP premiums are income based (http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/msp/infoben/premium.html#monthly) so it isn't as if the government is "giving" your partner money - they are basing the premiums owed on his income. Thus, while I couldn't find anything clearly spelled out in writing ("MSP premium assistance (is/is not) considered social assistance for the purposes of immigration") it certainly seems that it applies to people who are earning income (and thus not otherwise on social assistance). Indeed, the MSP premium assistance rules do explicitly mention that those on social assistance also qualify for MSP premium assistance, but that seemed to be inclusive. Thus, your partner can certainly disclose it on the application if there is a question, but I suspect CIC is not going to consider that social assistance.

You CAN defer informing CRA of your change in status, but be warned that if you do so they will ask you to return any rebates/refunds for which you no longer qualify. For example, only one of you may claim the HST rebate, so if both of you are now claiming it, they will ask one (or both) of you to refund the difference. Easier just to fill out the RC65 form now and send it in (http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pbg/tf/rc65/README.html) than to receive a bill for several hundred dollars next year.

Good luck!

A lot of people don't get any change until 11 months. 6 months is really nothing for inland. They don't look at your application until closer to 11 months really. I let you know about the two words.

Thank you Parker24. I guess I just have to check my status later then.

For the abbreviation, I guess AIR should be AIP which stands for Application in Process.
