Guys question can I check our ECAS using our Receipt Number(IMM 5401) ? thank you in advance to those who can answer my question

Yes but it will likely come up as "not found" since you submitted your application less than 60 days ago. Nothing will show up on ECAS until a decision has been made on sponsorship.

Guys.. just need an advise.. i have sent my passport to a local courier to the Canadian Embassy here in manila last Nov.20 2011
i checked on the ECASS stating IN PROCESS Started processing Nov 24 2011 but still up to now no passport received? Guys Please help... many many thanks... :D

@ jerome_1980

CEM will not update you that they have received your Passport and additional docs... for the fact that your ECAS says IN PROCESS it means they are already working on your application and had received your PP..

Hello there,

I am preparing for the application for my spouse and needed some info.....

I am in India currently and my wife is holding Indian Passport.

I got married on 12th December 2011, and gathering required info about my spouse's PR application.

I am landed immigrant (PR) since June 2011, and currently in India.

Is there a requirement for me to be physically in Canada to be able to sponsor my wife ?

Aslo if yes, Do I have to have a job or some sort of income ?

If I am not working in Canada at the time of this application, what should I do ? Do I have to wait until I find a job or Can I successfully apply without being employed person in Canada ?

If someone can answer my queries, that would be really helpful.

Thnaks in advance.

AP.

Yes, as a PR, you must be residing in Canada to sponsor your spouse.

There is no specific income requirement but if you don't have a job and are making absolutely no money, you may have to explain how you and your wife plan to support yourselves in Canada when she gets her PR. They can deny if they do not believe you can support yourselves.

Happy new year to you all.

Hi all!

My husband dropped off his visa and appendix a with passport pictures at the Manila CEM office mailbox last November 28 pero until now no reply from CEM. Ecas is still in process. Getting stress na kase we dont know the outcome. Anyone have the same problem? Please help! Going crazy na thinking about it! I have spend a lonely christmas without my husband and at least i want to receive a good news before the new year!

hi... can anybody help me clear up the payment details of sponsorship??? I cant understand the explanation of our representative & what he told my husband Smiley It seemed he's making lots of money from us Smiley I read in CIC, that..we have to pay:

$75 for sponsor
$475 for me (spouse) <----- is this for the approval of sponsorship, right???

$490 <----- this is AFTER the approval of sponsorship? Right of permanent resident fee?Huh So, our respective visa center can process our papers???

I'm wondering why our representative charge us $800 , then another $600 , then the last one will be $400 which is exclusive of $1000 dollars we already paid him. We paid him already $1800, he said, were due already to pay $600.

I know if we hire a representative, we really have to pay his service. But whats $800?? $600?? $400?Huh...............Im confused. Its bigger than what was stated in the CIC website.

Please help. Thanks.

Surely something of this nature has been posted before. If so, perhaps you could direct me, otherwise any advice would be oh so helpful!

My husband and I are New Zealanders, living in NZ. He also happens to have Canadian Citizenship (due to his father) so is sponsoring me for our move to Canada next year (for 2 - 3 years). Neither of us have ever visited Canada.

We applied in October for PR for myself, which we understand won't arrive before we move over in April. He has been accepted as a sponsor, but that is all we have heard from CIC. He has a job (almost) lined up in Northern Canada. I plan to enter on a Working Holiday Visa rather than wait around in NZ until my PR arrives which will hopefully be within the first few months (they say it takes 7 months for NZ applications).

My questions:

1. Do I have to be in my home country to RECEIVE my PR?
I understand I have to leave Canada and return with the PR, but does this mean a return to NZ? And if so, would you recommend my husband accompany me over the border seeming as he is my sponsor?
(I have heard mention of an interview in home country? But this was not in my application information so I assume it doesn't apply to those sponsored by a Spouse who has citizenship.)

2. On arrival, will the Canadian border patrol know that I have applied for PR? Will this jeopardise my ability to enter with a Working Holiday Visa even if I have a return ticket?

I'd love to get in touch with anyone who has done anything of this nature. Any help appreciated - it's all a little overwhelming!

Hello, for my husbands sponsorship I only paid $1,040 is your representative a family member?
if i'm not wrong the 490 and 475 is for the person being sponsored and the 75 is for the sponsor
