Hi Guys,

I have a question and appreciate if someone could answer it.

PA ( inland, currently on TRV ) is at a stage where all the checks are green on the tracker as of last week but still there's no copr number shown and GCKEY has no updates after medicals. We are planning to go for a month long vacation in mid / end of February. I am hopeful that we'll get the process completed by then but incase it is delayed would the PA require PRTD to come back ? Just a bit confused if PA can travel outside Canada for this long and probably at the end of the whole process.

Yes. if the PA is out of Canada and COPR is generated they will need PRTD to travel back to Canada

Hi everyone,

Quick question at the end of the explanation below.

On Aug 28th, 2023 my spouse applied for spousal sponsorship from India. I am the sponsor on PR in Canada and we got married in India this year (2023). While applying, one of the forms was not sent correctly (IMM 5532). We immediately sent a webform stating that this form had been missed and attached the correct form with the webform.

On Oct 30th, we received confirmation that the form had been added to our application via a email reply, but shortly after, the spousal application was rejected for not having submitted the form IMM 5532. When I logged into the PR portal, it asked me to submit the correct IMM 5532 form, whichI did on Aug 30th 2023.

Currently, the application says that it is 'submitted'. Today is Nov 19th, 2023 and we have still not received an AOR. What is the reason for this delay?

You are not a pr until you land. Inland pa out of country at the time of copr issuance will not be able to land thus will not be considered a PR and will not be issued a prtd.

Documents your family members will get
If your family members are outside Canada

We’ll send them these documents once we finish processing their application:

  • a document confirming they have been approved to become Canadian permanent residents
    • We call this document the Confirmation of Permanent Residence.
  • a permanent resident visa, if required

Practically, your right submission would be somewhere in october. Hence wait to get AOR, as they already rejected first submission.

This applies for those who apply outland, they will indeed receive CoPR and Visa (if required). And before you are considered a PR you need to land.

Applicants who leave Canada before a final decision is made on their application for permanent residence
There is no guarantee that foreign nationals who have left Canada after submitting an application under the Spouse or Common-law Partner in Canada class will be allowed to return to or re-enter Canada

Although family trips outside of Canada are not explicitly forbidden, there is no guarantee of being allowed back.

Hello all. Can someone share their experience in regard to the timelines for in-land Spousal Sponsorship?

For some context, Biometrics, Medicals, Eligibility, and Background verification are completed for my wife. If you are or have been in the same situation, I have a couple of questions for you:

1. What's the next step in the process? I believe it's receiving the COPR.

2. After how long (duration-wise) have you heard from IRCC?

Let me know. Cheers!

Hi guys, I am working on my spousal sponsorship application (Outland). A quick question regarding financial support. We have a joint bank account in our family and it’s under my mother name and I send money to that account every month. Can I mention that in a letter and include the statements for my spousal application?

Thanks

I'd suggest you look up in the tracker how long it takes to go between the steps. The only step that really matters is passport request (or invitation to virtual landing, which is the same thing as passport request).

How long does it take to get the ECOPR in the client portal, We have been waiting roughly 2 months now and nothing, The last while when checking the PR Tracker it had information on me ECOPR, travel doc number, Expiry date, Country of issue but it updated on the 19th of November and is now showing Unavailable. What does that mean? Why did is change ton unavailable ?
