Hi Everyone. Can anyone please guide me ,

I Just landed as a PR 10 days ago. I am in the process of finding a Job.

I have my wife and a 2 year old declared in the file as ( Non accompanying dependents )

I am willing to go for spousal sponsorship. since there is a 2 year old child ,

is it a prerequisite to show funds for 3 people or that won't apply as i am a PR ?

Also what is more preferable mode of applying, Paper based or Online ?

Thanking you in advance.

Hi all,

Application received by Sydney office on April 11, 2022 and received a biometric request today on June 16, 2022.
We have already booked an appointment for biometrics on June 22, 2022. Can someone please tell me what will be the next steps and how long it will take?

You don’t need to do anything at the moment, just wait for their next instructions.

I am yet to receive a PR Card, Can I file spousal sponsorship on the basis of COPR ?

Thanks in advance

Hi! Can anyone please suggest if spouse lives outside of canada then would it be better to apply an outland sponsorship or call spouse on visit visa and follow the inland process. Which one of the two would be faster irrespective of what timelines of processing are shown on the website?
Views and experience are much appreciated. Thanks!

Congratulations! You should get PPR email anytime now. What was your VO?
Hey group members

I’ve received pre arrival services letter on May 18 2022 and when I checked on monday 6th june 2022 it showed decision made.

Sponsorship Application Status: Decision Made
When checked in Prt-srp.apps.cic.gc.ca portal : It states application IN PROGRESS and everything is completed (including background verification )

When I click on Decision Made :

We received your application for permanent residence on January 11, 2022.
We started processing your application on April 14, 2022.
We sent you medical instructions on April 14, 2022. To avoid delays, please provide us the information requested in the letter as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
4. Medical results have been received

Can someone please assist me with this. Any lead would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Hi! Could you please share whether your application is outland or inland. This would be of great help. Thanks!

I don't think it will be a problem. Not familiar with this situation though. I am in the same boat as you and I will also be traveling. From what I have read, you should be fine if the trip is not too long (meaning you still have a job in Canada) or you've been approved as sponsor and your permanent address doesn't move out of Canada. Let's see what others say as well.
Hi, Thank you so much for sharing your timeline in the signature, did you apply for spousal sponsorship through the new online portal? Your response would be much appreciated as I am about to file my spouse's application. Thanks in advance

Based on the information that I have been advised by senior members , Spousal sponsorship would be the way to go. Once the file number is generated ,you can simultaneously apply for visit visa and chances of visit being approved will be quite high.

Whereas if you apply for visit visa first , You'll need to convince the visa officer that your spouse has got strong ties back in home country which will make her leave canada after her purpose of visit is done. Probabilities of being granted visa in this scenario is quite low because the visa officers know that since the husband is here, she's got strong ties in canada which is why she may not leave , but it is at your discretion if you want to try.

All the best .
