Both requestes specifically state "If not already submitted". You stated you have already submitted, so continue on with sending your passport or whatever it is they are asking you for.

It sounds as if you have already paid the RPRF. However, how long ago did you get your most recent PCCs? If it's much more than a year ago, they might be expecting new ones?

Hi all,
I just want to clarify what i read at the cic website regarding maintaing of legal status. Is it true that spouses/ common law partners of canadian citizens or permanent residents in Canada who wish to apply for PR status are no longer required to have legal immigration status provided that they have an eligible sponsor? So that means that if the sponsor is approved at stage 1, the partner can stay in Canada WITHOUT legal status?
There has been some debate regarding the word `eligible' sponsor. Some have argued that a sponsor, that can honestly say yes to the questions listed to apply as a sponsor, are in fact `eligible' and remain `eligible' until they are approved (or denied) by CIC. Even CIC call agents have had to reluctantly agree that the language is...not clear.

Really?!?!?!?!

Hello,

I need an urgent answer please. I have recently applied for my husband to sponsor him. The status on my online profile says "Decision Made" when I click on it it says they have sent me a letter. What i want to know is if they have sent me (the sponsor) the letter, or have they sent the applicant (my spouse) the letter? Whose mailing address have they sent it to?

Thank you.

CPC-M has sent you (sponsor) the letter, most probably by email (if you provided them your email address in application form) otherwise mail.

Sounds like it would be your sponsorship approval so stage 1 of your application . I just have to ask you did you not give them email addresses? It sounds like you are expecting a letter. this sort of communiqué is normally done by email. It's certainly easier to get email and speedier.
I had my husband fill the designated representative form so I can't say for sure however as the sponsor is the one applying for approval I suspect that notification goes to the sponsor regardless. Even though we filled the form, I only got those first two notifications (sponsorship approval and application received) and the updated doc request and ppr went to my husband.
Why do you feel the pinch of urgency might I ask? What is your concern? It can take a bit from decision made to a communication. I don't think it's any reason to be concerned.

I am a Canadian citizen currently living and working outside of Canada with my wife and 2 sons. My wife is Japanese. We got married in Japan in 2005. My eldest son holds a Canadian Passport, a Canadian Citizenship card and a SIN card. My youngest was born a year ago in Malaysia and I have already submitted his application for a Canadian Citizenship Certificate. About a month before we leave we need to apply for his passport. What I need to find out is what is the process for my wife for our move to Canada? Must I go through Spousal Sponsorship while we are still here in Malaysia and before we go to Canada this summer? Can/Do I apply for Permanent Resident Status while I am here, or do I need to do both? I just want to make sure I take the correct steps to ensure a smooth transition for our move to Canada. There is a Canadian High Commission here in Kuala Lumpur (but no Immigration section - the closest is at the Canadian High Commission in Singapore). There is also a VFSGlobal.ca office in KL that handles temporary resident visas, study permits, work permits and Permanent Resident Travel Documents. Could you please advise what I need to do? Ideally I would like to start the process as soon as possible. Thank you.

Singapore is one of the offices I'd personally advise you to not apply outland to. If I were you is apply for TRV and apply inland.

Question re: Havana VO...did anyone hear that the VO in Havana gives notice only upon issuing of visa via telephone call. Or have you heard of them emailing the sponsored husband (or by reg mail). My husband is determined it will all be done by phone because "it's CUBA!". I'm afraid he'll miss an important memo via email. Anyone have any idea/experience on the Havana end?! Thanks for your reassurance! ;)

You will need to file for sponsorship. My advice would be to start that process now via the Outland process. Your wife is Japanese so she can request Manila. Then when the time comes for you to go to Canada, she can come to Canada as a visitor - have them give her a VR at the Port of Entry (POE). Normally a visa exempt spouse will be granted visitor status while the paperwork is finished.

Note: Outland does not require she be outside Canada. The application is processed outside Canada. Inland requires she be in Canada living with you, so the usual advice is that she remain in Canada for the duration of the application (if she leaves and then cannot get back in, her application fails. Outland applications do not.)

I am in need of some advice on my application to sponsor my girlfriend who lives with me in Canada.

Here is where were we are at this point,
My girlfriend was in Canada on a 1 year working holiday from Ireland, we met the second month she was here and moved in together shortly after.
After her first year was up she activated her second 1 year visa that was approved and we then decided I was going to sponsor her to become a permanent resident.
Our application for Permanent Residence Sponsorship from Inside Canada was received April 5th 2013 and the online waiting time for a sponsorship inside Canada was 6months, this was extremely misleading and caused a lot of stress as every few months the wait times were extended by the same amount of time that had passed :(
So I contacted CIC after countless phone calls every day I finally got through to get some advice, they recommended we apply for a open work permit as the application wait times were only getting longer and her Working Visa was going to expire before the application would be looked at. We applied for the work permit but I was not told and I didn't check that there as a fee to this application, this was my fault for not checking but these things are new to me so the Visa has now expired and we have no working permit.
Now we have just received a letter from the processing facility saying they are not satisfied with our proof that we have lived together, this is where I have the big issue. My girlfriend has been living with me for 2+ years, at first in my house that I own, and now in a house that we purchased together. But I cannot prove this because when we purchased our home the bank would not allow her to be on title of the home because she does not have residency in Canada.
I have been trying to call CIC every day for hours on end on two separate phones but I cannot get through, I enter my information then a recording comes on saying there is no one to answer my call and it hangs up, I have repeated this process hundreds of times now and I don't know what to do.

Is there someone I can contact or a building I can go to in Canada that has someone who will receive me? I don't mind flying to Calgary or Toronto if needed(we live in Saskatoon).

I don't mind waiting for the processing time to take as long as it needs to, money is not a restriction as I can support both of us comfortably, the big thing for us right now is my sister is getting married out of country in May and it would be horrible if we cant go together because I fear if she leaves the country she will not be able to get back in.

I know that is a mouthful of information, but I am lost with what to do at this point and all I want is someone to talk to that can give me direction.

Thank you for reading!
