Is your husband with you in Canada? If not, I'm assuming that is why you are choosing an outland application, since these offices have long processing times.

Abu Dhabi (KSA applications) lists 24 months
Amman list 19 months

So I would think you would request Amman, since it has a shorter processing time but there may be other considerations here as well (e.g., the ability to enter the UAE or Jordan should an interview be required.)

You must submit a complete application - that is, it must contain both the sponsorship application and the PR application. Technically it is two applications and CPC-M processes the first part (sponsor approval) and then forwards the second part to the visa office.

Good luck!

If you don't get replies it is probably because nobody here knows the answer directly. Perhaps someone in one of the ND threads might be better situated to answer, although much of what you ask is going to be beyond anyone's knowing.

ND is notorious for requesting the passport at the beginning of processing, and thus it can often be 6 months or longer before they return it. No other visa office does this as far as I know.

At some point they will send you a final letter that says "if we don't get your passport we will assume your application has been abandoned and close your file" or something of that sort. I've never gone through the ND passport process, but I've read some stories. I suspect you are right, in that a work permit and TRV is likely faster to process than the PR application, but I'd be speculating.

Apparently it is illegal to ship a passport outside India, yes. What people seem to do is have a person in India they trust carry it on their behalf and then submit it in India. I have never seen anyone claim it is unlawful to send a passport inside India by mail, but someone more familiar with Indian law would be better to answer this question definitively.
Thanks a lot Computergeek....I have another question. While sending application, we paid only CAD 550 towards applicant and sposor fees. We have yet to pay the permanent resident fee of CAD 490. The applicant received a letter stating the fee requirement and PP and PCC. Applicant is based out of Singapore and sponsor in Canada.
1)Can the sponsor pay the fees in CAD and send across the receipt to applicant?
2) what is the option in CIC website to choose for the fee payment? Applying at an office outside Canada or Inside canada as the applicant VO is NewDelhi, India..
Hope you can help with this...

Thanks and have a great weekend.

As I recall, the preferred way is to have the sponsor pay the fees in Canada, notify CPC-M that they have been paid and send a copy of the receipt to the VO. Note that CPC-M must then update the GCMS notes to indicate that the RPRF has been paid in Canada. Others may have more experience - we paid everything up front and I checked the GCMS notes in August to make sure they had properly noted the payments on the file (they had).

If you wish to pay it directly to the VO, you need to go to their website or refer to their letter on how to pay. From their website (http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/india-inde/visas/fees-frais.aspx?view=d) it says you must pay in a demand draft payable in either CAD or INR, and they list the amount to pay in each currency.

For first stage inland sponsored spousal applications, you are eligible for an open work permit. There are other programs that offer work permits as well (e.g., PNP) but other than that, in family class there is no linkage between the PR application and a work permit application, so you don't gain any privilege nor should you suffer any disadvantage.

There are several threads on here that discuss spousal interviews. I would suggest reviewing them because they provide a wealth of useful information.

Once the interview is complete, the VO may either make a decision immediately or may delay the decision for further consideration. It is unusual to receive the visa the same day as the interview (assuming the interview is successful).

Procedural fairness suggests that there is a serious issue, such as a medical issue or an issue of misrepresentation. They are providing you with an opportunity to address their concerns and if you are not able to do so, they will refuse your visa.

I would strongly suggest that you find an experienced immigration lawyer (NOT a consultant) with experience in the relevant area. It will not guarantee you get a visa, but it will improve your chances of doing so.

Kindly suggest on my following case:

I am an Indian citizen, my wife holds Canadian PR, which she obtained as a family PR on the points base. She stayed in Canada in 2009 for 15 days after she got her PR then came back. We both are medical graduates from India. She then, took her exams for USMLE, U.S. in 2010 and stayed in US for 10 months and since then, stayed in India with her parents till our marriage 3 months back. And a month ago, we decided to move to Canada. She has gone to Canada, 3 days back. We plan to apply from her as the sponsor for me as the spouse From Canada.

I wanted to know, whether:
1) Is it okay for her to sponsor me , since she has not had a long stay in Canada too. Shall we wait or should apply.
2) If we apply, how much time can it take or any tips to quicken the process.....as it seems very difficult to live seperately for a longer period. Kindly suggest some way out , so that we can stay together till the application processing. We are still yet to apply....
3) When we apply, do we have to send the PCC and Medical along with the application..
4) PCC- WHere do we have to get the PCC from- LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT/ REGIONAL PASSPORT OFFICE

I shall be really grateful for your kind help and advice.

GOD BLESS!!!!
