hi i hv snt d application to sponsor my husband
(india) and in mississauga dey recievd on 22 feb 2012....cn anyone tell me hw mch time does it take for dm to reply ??? thnks

The current posted figures are that they respond to the sponsorship application in 55 days (although they claim to have updated the website, the "currently processing" and "55 days" numbers have not changed in a couple of weeks.) So, figure 8 weeks: late April 2012. You should be able to see it in e-cas (using the receipt number) in that timeframe.

Good luck!

Please I need your input, I am about to apply for my wife inland application. Although, she had applied for outland PR about 8 years ago and she was refused because she could not convince the VO that the relationship was genuine at that time. Based on this, I moved back to my home country. We were there together for more than 3 years. Now, I am back into the country since I am a Canadian she was given a visitor visa for 3 years. Now, I am about to file an inland application for her. But my fear is that we do not remember all the details we put in the previous outland application. As we do not want to contradict issues that will make her new inland application rejected. Will the CIC still have this in their system? Any idea please?

Thanks

They still have it in their system and how come you don't have a copy of what you have sent to them? Didn't you save a copy for you?

Hi All,
I'm new to this forum so don't really know how soon people share their views but i believe it won't take long time. And I believe that experts provide information quickly.

Anyways,
Please note that i applied for PR visa for Canada. My Wife sponsered me in April 2011 and she has been granted as sponser in June 2011. She already received Acknoledge receipt from Missesuga.
Out file got transfered to New Delhi in June 2011 and
In September 2011, It has started processing.

Ecas status was reflecting In Process till last month,

"We received XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX application for permanent residence on June 30, 2011.
We started processing XXXXX XXXXX XXXXXs application on September 28, 2011.
Medical results have been received."

But a month back the status has been changed back to Application Received from In Process and the text remained the same.

CIC requested my Passport in November 2011 and it was sent to them on a very next day.

Could anyone please advice if they have faced this or experts can you please help me.

Hi All,

Has anyone been interviewed about their education on this forum or you know of anyone that has been interviewed about their education?

Yes, that is the one you need.

Thanks, I just found my Student visa doesn't expire until Aug 2012, so im safe on the time frame, but I wont be able to get my marriage cert. until after the first week of may. Im not in classes anymore, should I apply to change status online now to visitor, or should I just wait until I submit all my papers?

thanks again!

There is no way you can waive the three year obligation. It doesn't matter if you divorce. The three year obligation will still apply.

To maintain your PR status, you must live in Canada two out of every five years. If you do not enter Canada again until 3 years completion from the first time you entered the country, you could be cutting it very close for your residency obligation.

This is a non-Canadian divorce? If so, the Canadian government isn't going to care what the terms and conditions are. YOU might be in violation of the agreement, but that's not an issue for Canada. At most it is a civil issue, which would not be of interest and cannot be used as a bar to your entry into Canada. If it is a Canadian divorce and you violate the agreement you could be held in contempt of court, but again, that's not something for which you would be refused entry into Canada, nor would you be deported for it.

A Canadian court would not enforce such a clause, so your ex-husband would be required to go back to India to attempt to obtain enforcement action.

My advice: either move back to Canada and get the divorce there (where such a term would not be allowed in any case) or get your divorce in India and then go to Canada and don't tell your ex-spouse where you are living. Get on with your life.

Of course, you can always consult with an attorney in Canada to confirm that this type of restrictive condition would not be enforceable, as I'm not a Canadian attorney.

I find it very unlikely that such a clause would be enforceable. A PR has the right to live and work in Canada. Can a person sign away that right in a private agreement? I think it would be like signing away your right to freedom, your right to vote, your right to minimum wage etc. I don't think it would hold in court. Besides, if the ex doesn't know she is back, he will not know she is in breech of the contract.
