Hello everyone,

Just curious to know if anyone has an idea of an average wait period between application received and medical request for an outland sponsorship?

my partner and I (Filipino) have been in a long distance relationship for almost 4yrs now. she is a canadian citizen now, yes this is a same sex relationship. i am currently "married" as a status, but has been separated for 8 yrs now from my husband. she is planning to petition me and my children under conjugal. what are the odds? and one more thing, will the embassy require for me to get an annulment? annulment is very hard to get in the philippines.

TBH, with the fact that not only you are married to an opposite sex, but also you have more than one child, it will be an uphill battle to convince CIC that you are part of the LGBTQ community. CIC will treat your case as a marriage of convenience for sure, plus the conjugal sponsorship itself is a very difficult route to go. So be well prepared, your case won't be an easy one and you should expect a very long process time.

would it be easier if i get to canada as tourist and get married there? what do you think would be our best shot? we cannot apply for common law for sure, it requires 1 yr of cohabitation. she has just been here 3x in the PH, staying for a month, in our 4 yrs of relationship. and we have traveled outside the PH together twice when she comes here in the PH plus our consistent contact with each other through communication apps like messngers viber and skype, emails... we got pictures to show since the beginning of our relationship... one of my biggest fear is the embassy asking me of annulment. i cannot afford that.

Appreciate your help..On Form 5669 it requires both Last name and Given name to be filled. I put my given name in last name section in all other papers and validated them but unfortunately on Form imm5669 it requires both fields to be filled to validate it. Thats where I'm stuck now. Might be this is only the issue with recent forms.

Use your full name in both first and last name sections.
Example if your first name on passport is Garry Parmar and last name is blank, use Garry Parmar on both first and last name on the form.
First name Garry Parmar
Last name Garry Parmar

Hi folks
Am in Canada and my spouse is in India, I am sponsoring him for here, however I have 2 questions ,1. We do not have his birth certificate as it got lost years ago so will affidavit do?
2. And is it mandatory to have mine PR card in place before I apply for his sponsorship or my COPR can suffice...
Any help will be appreciated

Normally, how long do you have to wait before you can link the application after receiving the AOR? When I tried to link the application with application number, it could not be found .

Permanent residents cannot apply from outside of Canada.
