HiHi,
I got married to a Canadian Permanent Resident 1.5 year ago and at that time I had my own PR application in process. I did not sponsor the person I married, neither did she sponsor me since my application was already in process. I got married back home and updated the change in my marital status when i returned to Canada. My Application got updated but since my spouse was already a Canadian Permanent Resident, it was just an update in the application.
Things between us broke down as she was living back home and I was here in Canada and we never lived together and ultimately the marriage ended and the divorce was filed and later certificate was issued from the marriage/family union authority back home. During this time I had received my passport request.
I updated CIC on my change in marital status (now married to divorced) and did not hear from them and my application got approved in the meantime and in my CoPR my marital status was "married".
while doing the landing, I informed the border agent about the change and he was pretty chill about it and said, as long as you have communicated this to CIC, it is not a problem and you don't need to apply for a new COPR.
Now I got married again and have to sponsor my spouse to Canada.
My question is, what would be my marital status now in Canada and is there a way to verify this from CIC/Service Canada and see if the records still show my ex spouse?
would this create any problems in sponsoring my new spouse to Canada ?
The first marriage and divorce were both done outside of Canada in the country of my origin and I do have the marriage and divorce certificates.
The second marriage also occurred in the country of my origin and I have the relevant marriage certificate.
Am I good to proceed with sponsoring her ?
appreciate your help. thanks.
This is only accurate if the parent was born in Canada now.If you as a Canadian citizen has a child outside Canada the child is automatically a citizen of Canada by decent you just need to apply for a passport at THE consulate and will notify immigration of your child but do.Not need.to apply for status for the child as the.child is already Canadian by decent
You need to be honest. Answer no about your family, and there will be a section for you to explain why they dont know.Hi
I got married recently in a civil marriage. My friends know about it but family doesnt as thry were not supportive of this relationship. There is a question do your close friends, family know about your relationship? Yes or no
Yes my close friends know but not my family.
What should i answer.
Thanx in advance

Can anyone please help me for getting spouse sponsorship forms as am not able to download it from the IRCC site.
2. A court marriage for people from India can be a red flag. IRCC looks for people to follow cultural norms, which for India, is the flashy wedding.
>> Ours will be an inter-caste marriage, so we wont be having a flashy wedding any way.
3. Yes, that's a problem. Even if you do a court marriage, you need to have family there, celebrate, take pictures.
>> Yes there will be a reception for friends & some family members but no ceremony as such. So pictures of reception would suffice?
You will need to explain why you aren't having a traditional wedding. Take pictures of the legal ceremony too.>> Ours will be an inter-caste marriage, so we wont be having a flashy wedding any way.

Probably the consultant's screw-up. I suggest they send an urgent Webform themselves.Hello,
As I am sponsoring my husband, my cousin who is also in the same process submitted her application thru the help of an immigration consultant. As we were comparing our application status thru the ECAS tool, mine states that it is “in process”, and the sponsored person is my husband’s name (of course). When I checked hers, we discovered that the name under her sponsored person turned out to be a different name, a mexican name. Whereas, her husband is an american and it wasn’t his name on that app. We tried to contact the consultant for clarification but she can’t be reach probably because of the holidays. Is it possible that it was just a mistake by the consultant or do we have to call IRCC to cancel the application right away to avoid complication for her future sponsorship application? TIA
It's can take up to 3 months for aor. Visit visa are very rarely issued during the process. You can apply, but likely will be denied. They will send you mail after sponsor passes eligibility, for the biometrics.Hello,
I have a few queries regarding spousal PR.
My husband had already listed me as a non travelling dependant and I have received a UCI number.
We applied for a PR under family class which was mailed to Sydney, Nova Scotia. The application was mailed on October 30 and received on November 1.
I haven't received my Aor1.
Do I need to submit biometrics?
Can I apply for a visit visa after I get my Aor1?
Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
